  1. I think standing would bring back a lot of atmosphere because people would find it much easier to form groups of friends, if a few started to sing then people could move to that area to do the same. Before we had an all seater St James' Park most of the people who wanted to sing grouped together in the Leazes and the Gallowgate, you can't do that when you're stuck to sitting in a seat a long way away from your mates.
  2. I don't have a problem with the streamers, I think it will look brilliant if they're all thrown at the same time. Regarding the grey seats, Boro have got a few spare red ones that they don't need.
  3. Agreed, at least the club are trying to do something about the atmosphere when so many are complaining about how much the ground resembles a library these days. The club know we’ll have a better chance of winning if the ground is jumping and they are trying to do something about it. Personally, I don’t have a problem with this, I’m a bit surprised that anybody is bothered about it.

Have West Ham got rid of him already?

I must admit I liked Dyer when he was playing to the best of his ability but my problem was that he didn't do it often enough. He's wasted a lot of potential and he'll probably look back at it in 10 years with regret. Refusing to play on the right wing is beyond forgiveness, especially when a few days later he was more than happy to play left wing for England. I would have been happy if he'd stayed but I'm just as happy, possibly more so that he's gone and we've got a very good price for him.

I don't think anybody on here knows the answer at this time.
  7. If we play to our potential and keep our players fit then I can see us finishing 5th and I said that before we beat Bolton, I think 4th is too much for now but you never know.

The bits from the Chronicle that suited me were direct quotes from Allardyce and it was from the Journal so if I do ridicule the Chronicle this wouldn't effect that. As for the bit from the Times, I'm hardly going to have a go at the club for possibly not doing something while they can still do it. If Allardyce comes out and says that he would have been given more cash if the club hadn't changed ownership then I'll comment, not before.

If we were wrong to not take the £6 million for Dyer we'll know by the end of the window and not before. I agree about what you've said about Dyer and we'll find out later if it was a mistake.

I'm not pretending to be an ITK, I've been told something that I have taken at face value, it may be true, it may not. I have no reason to think that the person has said anything other than what he thinks is true. What have you heard?

Allardyce on the backing he's had. “We’ve invested well, I’ve spent more than I’ve ever spent this summer and I’m grateful for that,” explained a manager who has so far signed seven players. “I’m fortunate to have that, I’ve been able to invest more on transfer fees and more on wages and I’ve got bigger and better players. When you do that you have more quality, you can play better football. When you don’t, it’s about upsetting bigger and better teams, it’s about embarrassing them and it’s something you don’t get credit for. You’re doing it with lesser players and that makes you better than them. But it also means people start saying you’re something you’re not.” http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/journalsport/tm_method=full%26objectid=19618467%26siteid=50081-name_page.html

I've been told that we've done nothing wrong by somebody I trust so I'll accept that we haven't done anything wrong until somebody else can prove the opposite.
  14. Carr is liable to try and attack and be left stranded out of position, I expect that to happen every game, it doesn't always happen but it's still too often when it does. I would prefer him to become less adventurous but that would weaken us down that side so that's probably not going to happen.

    Michael Chopra

The booing I heard was on MOTD.
  16. I think we'll win by two goals, anything less and Shak should never be allowed on English soil within 24 hours of us playing, fact.
  17. This is my main concern. They will surely look to exploit our full back positions, where we'll probably have N'Zogbia, a makeshift left back, and Carr, who can be a liability at times and isn't the quickest. Hopefully Rozenhal can deal with Carew whose aeriel threat caused us problems here last time. If N'Zogbia is having trouble I expect Enrique will be on the bench to replace him at left back, while Geremi can always go to right back if Carr is getting murdered down that side, so we do have options. Enrique is said to be very quick and handled Messi no problem according to the Villarreal fans, so he might be the man for this game if Allardyce feels he's ready. Can we afford to use two sub's to try and sort out our defence? I'm more worried about Carr than N'Zogbia, N'Zogbia can at least use a bit of pace if he gets into trouble, Carr might as well just give up. If Nobby is still a Newcastle player at the weekend I'd stick him in place of Carr and not take any chances with him, Carr is still an accident waiting to happen.
  18. The reason was enough to make him say no in the first place, he could change his mind, if he does that then the original knock-back is a bit suspicious.
  19. It seemed important enough for him to turn us down.
  20. Do you think Silvestre is a no then?
  21. Mort might not be only watching the teams, he could also be taking in a match at Old Trafford so that he can compare it with ours next weekend to see how two clubs with big grounds treat fans. I wouldn't be surprised if he's looking at facilities so that he can get ideas for improving ours.

The thought of playing for the mackems wouldn't be as bad as the thought of pulling on that shirt, I don't know why. I would think that pulling the mackem shirt on would feel like wearing a tramps vest, not something I'd like to do. I don't blame Chopra for signing for them, he'd have been mad not to considering what he'll earn from them. He did look as if he was going to kiss the badge then realised which badge he had on his shirt. Did I hear booing when he came on?

    Bramble's Latics debut

I thought the same, he looked terrible.
