And I'm sure I pointed to you the league position when Ellis took over, did I not? Where were they in the league when, no don't bother.
-
Good point, I don't think that's ever been discussed before, well done for bringing it to everybody’s attention. Hold on, no I’m wrong, I think it probably has been discussed before. It’s probably been mentioned that shitty Villa while under the control of shitty Doug Ellis actually finished above us more than we finished above them, do you agree?

Fickle, define the word.

I thought you said Bobby was losing his marbles when he wrote his book? Bobby knows more about who is the cause of our problems yet he's wrong about getting undermined by the chairman because he's losing his marbles at an earlier date.

To sum up, shit team selection once again has cost us. Most could see that the team we put out today wasn't going to work, most except for the person who matters, he's fucking clueless. What was wrong with putting pace through the middle and actually starting with two proper wingers to give Charlton something to think about? For all of the possession we had we were piss poor going forwards, we were 1 dimensional donkeys. Clueless. Heartless. Spineless. Hopeless. Shambles. Shameful. Shocking. Wankers, the lot of them, from top to bottom. That’s possibly an over reaction but they are pissing me off big time.

If I have a go at anybody you'll not need to read between the lines, I'll highlight it.
-
That's one down, shit, I'll have to go for pointing it out, two down now.
-
I was just highlighting the difference between Farrington who has laid the blame on all involved while Oliver never has a bad word for the person who sat next to him during talk-ins.
-
At least he's put some of the blame away from the players, unlike the prick who reports for the Chronicle.

http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/sundaysun/tm_headline=dutch-disaster-has-united-on-road-to-nowhere%26method=full%26objectid=18772250%26siteid=50081-name_page.html There's so much which could be said about the pathetically premature, farcically feeble demise of yet another season for Newcastle United. It could be said that, even with so many Magpie misadventures to live down to, Glenn Roeder's "men" plumbed new depths in Alkmaar. Could be said that Titus Bramble's enduring presence in the Newcastle side is the perfect gauge of the club's decline. Could be said that Steven Taylor is suffering so badly alongside him as to risk ruination. Could be said that the inadequate Paul Huntington is both the ultimate victim and indictment of botched (or lack of) business in the transfer market. Could be said that Damien Duff's best days are not so much behind him as in the last century. Could be said that Emre is a man you'd want anywhere but next to you in the trenches. Could be said, indeed, that you'd want none of Thursday's team with you in the trenches, for fear they shoot both of you in the foot. Could be said that, having put a gun to his head by picking the wrong team in the first place, for a manager to chase the game with three identikit central midfielders while pacy wingers warm the bench represented suicide. But more than anything, it could be said that Newcastle, in stumbling out of Europe like stag weekenders onto an EasyJet flight, look like a side going nowhere. And considering, as Roeder says, all that really matters now is what happens next, that doesn't bode well. In fact, it spells disaster. United may have no silverware to chase these next two months, but they are fighting for the future of the club as we know it. Trouble is, it's doubtful the players realise that. Even less likely that they care. That club is built on a fanbase inflated twofold by the promise of success these last 15 years. Now, more than at any time in that decade and a half, that promise appears empty. And that promises empty seats next season. Many thousands of them. Similar warnings have been issued in the past, of course. But there was a sense of finality about the midweek Dutch disaster; a feeling that here was incontrovertible proof of Newcastle's new place in the world: nowhere of note. And if that doesn't worry Roeder - and worry his bosses even more - then a nasty surprise is on its way. For the tactical aberrations in Alkmaar ate up the last of the manager's credit. And his board are already deep in their fans' debt. Up to their necks, in fact.

I wonder who the 2 posters are? God, this is tricky......which 2 people would possibly think that Shepherd taking over would be a good thing??? I sense a postcode and an acronym... I would just like to clear one thing up before you go looking, I'm not one of them.

The poll results are interesting, only 2 see it as a positive.

Excellent, a use for your invitation to the timeshare sale.

We'll find out tomorrow if it's true, I hope I'm wrong because the end of season could be a right anti-climax if the players go into holiday mode.
-
I think it's out of our hands and will depend on which of the above teams want to win against us. I expect at least 1 gutless performance in amongst those games, we could easily end up winning none of them as the teams we're playing have a need of the points.
-
None of us know the true reason that the club is still in the hands of the current owners so it's all speculation. We can all make a guess at why they are still current owners, my guess is that one of two things happened. The debt was more than expected, I'm sure at least one of the would be buyers looked at the books. Or at least one of the major shareholders blocked a bid, my guess is the first and I'd expect that is close to the truth. If an offer had been made then Shepherd would have been legally bound to make an announcement, it couldn't have been swept under the carpet.
-
First of all I've never said all you need is a plan to get success, but if you fail to plan then the likely hood is you will fail, btw I don't remember having this conversation with you on here, I have however had it several times with Leazes Mag on toontastic but you've said you don't post over there so I'm not sure how you know about it. Why is it these clubs won't be above us? Since Shepherd's been chairman an average of 8 clubs have finished higher than us every season, I haven't seen anything from the club to think that will change any time soon.
-
I can think of two reasons, the first being the easy time he'd have taking more money out of the club, the second would be free reign to do whatever he likes.

Shepherd taking full control would be one of my biggest nightmares, we'd have nobody to keep him in check. I think it would be the lowest point in my life as a Newcastle supporter, I think I would finally resign myself to not winning anything else in my life-time.

You think Roeder is performing just below the bar, I'd hate to see him struggling.
