OK. Anyway, this'll not apply to you but just in case you happen to know who it is, they might want to update this one as it doesn't have the url for your blog, not that it's you mind. Oh, it wouldn't be you, this person pretends to be somebody else as you'll see further down, I think he was replying to himself while pretending to be somebody else. http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk.sport.football.clubs.newcastle-united/browse_thread/thread/1258f93adef16efc/43b92c50a6e59ff8?lnk=st&q=&rnum=4&hl=en#43b92c50a6e59ff8

Perfect timing, it's the only chance you'll have of going to Europe for a while.
-
Not true, we were talking about relegation during November.
-
I don't mind you having an opinion, I was just wondering what you based it on as I might have missed something. It would appear that your opinion is based on hope, I've no problem with that other than that it's not a lot to really pin your hopes on. I've based my opinions on hope before and have been let down every time, bar none.
-
That just about sums it up.
-
He's a capable coach, based on what?
-
Roeder is a 50 odd year old who has been in management for something like 7 years, I can't see him turning into something that he isn't now, he's not a kid who is learning. He's a 50 odd year old who keeps repeating the same mistake, he's either inept or hasn't the balls to make changes. Scenario 3 has nothing to suggest it might happen, not a thing.
-
Roeder was quoted as saying we were in pole position for players that we didn't get so he must have had something to work with. Glimpses of being great from Duff do not justify a third of our transfer budget going on a player we didn't need while major flaws in the team/squad were not adressed. He did well with Martins and Sibierski, I don't think for one minute that Roeder scouted Sibierski, he's a fluke that was probably offered to us on deadline day and we took him in desperation, the same desperation that rought Bernard back to the club.
-
That goes back to the team selection as much as those who played, we had a negative setup compared to the first game. Dyer should have played in the middle with Martins to give us a bit of pace, Milner should have been on the wing where he could have caused a few problems. Sibierski is a Trier, he's also as slow as my granddad who has been dead for 18 years.
-
I do think that getting a couple of quality defenders will help the team to pass, move and force the pace of the game and dominate games more. Our defenders can't defend so we're under pressure as soon as the ball comes into our half. I agree with you that defending should begin up front, that's not going to help when we have a team attacking our defenders who are not good enough. You seem to think that Duff is a good player, why is it that the worst defender was playing behind him, is that the fault of the defender or Duff? I don't have a problem with your opinion about us giving the ball away too cheaply, it's plain to see that this is happening. No team will retain the ball enough to play with shite defenders and get away with it, we're trying to do that.
-
He's done shite, most of his problems are not related to injuries, they haven't made life easy for him as having Owen would have covered up for a lot of Roeders inadequacies. Here's my assessment of him and what he should be judged on. Use of Transfer Windows - Shite. Team selection - Shite Motivational skills - Shite Tactics - Shite Use of substitutes - Shite Training methods (judged on performances) - Shite Have I missed anything?
-
Give Roeder more time, I've heard it all before except the same thing was said about Souness. Roeder had screwed up two transfer windows already, why give him another chance? What have you seen in him that I have missed? He's simply not good enough, giving him another transfer window is asking for trouble and would probably end up with him getting sacked in the same manner as Sir Bobby and Souness, within weeks of the new season. Settle for shite and that's all you can expect, Roeder is sub-standard, he always has been and always will be. Duff is no feather in the cap of Roeder, he wasn't a priority and hasn't justified his wages never mind the fee. If the European elite were after Gooch then he wouldn't be here, fact.
-
You don't blame the defenders, get a grip. Hunty was shite in defence, Bramble and Taylor had poor games, all defenders, or do you see it differently?

Another apology http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/news/tm_headline=united-have-no-excuses%26method=full%26objectid=18768880%26siteid=50081-name_page.html United have no excusesMar 17 2007 By The Journal Nicky Butt has apologised to the club's fans following Newcastle United's abject UEFA Cup surrender to AZ Alkmaar. And the midfielder is adamant that the Magpies faithful have every right to be angry with the players. Butt was blunt and forthright as he emerged from a tense away dressing room at the DSB Stadion and the former England international did not hold back in his criticism of the team's performance. As a regular winner of silverware during a decade of domestic dominance at Manchester United, Butt has more idea than most about what is needed to lift trophies, and he was livid at the manner in which Newcastle allowed Alkmaar to overturn a two-goal deficit from the first leg to progress to the quarter-finals on the away goals rule. But while the former England star expects a frosty reception on Tyneside for the next few weeks after seeing the club's last chance of silverware this season fizzle into nothing, he insisted the players were equally angry about what had happened. "It was the wrong time to deliver a poor performance like that," said Butt, who has rebuilt his personal, if not the team's, fortunes this season following his return from a loan spell at Birmingham City. "We had a great game in the first leg but we didn't play anything like that in the second. Maybe we thought we had already done the hard work at home and that is a fatal error to make. As a team we did not play very well and as individuals we did not play well. That's about it, we didn't pass the ball well, we just didn't perform. "There will be anger and there will be a lot of disappointment on Tyneside, we fully understand that. All I can say to the fans is that there is just as much anger and disappointment in the dressing room about what has happened. "We will be joining in that sense of anger. There was a lot of shouting and bawling at each other after the game. I understand if the crowd are angry and upset with the players because it's another chance gone begging. "We wanted to win something, we've done pretty well in Europe this season, but we've let ourselves down against Alkmaar and that hurts everyone connected to the club." Given United's involvement in the Intertoto Cup in July, there is a temptation to suggest the sheer number of games played by the Magpies caught up with them in Alkmaar this week. However, Butt does not entertain such a notion and the 32-year-old does not believe others should be able to use tiredness as an excuse for what has happened. He said: "We can't use tiredness as an excuse. I can only speak for myself, but although we've played a lot of games, the way we train with the fitness coaches, it's all geared up to coping with the number of games we have to play. "Tiredness isn't a factor for me and I doubt very much if it is for the other lads as well. On the night we didn't play to our potential and we paid the price for that." Newcastle appear to have little left to play for this season than a respectable league position and the hope that a top-eight finish will be enough to earn qualification for the Intertoto Cup if Chelsea and Manchester United meet in the FA Cup final in May, thus ensuring that the three available Uefa Cup spots will go to the teams finishing fifth to seventh in the top flight. The Magpies are five points behind Tottenham Hotspur in eighth place ahead of this weekend's fixture and a win at relegation-threatened Charlton is vital if they are going to lift the mood of their supporters, as well as maintain the pressure on those sitting above them in the Premiership. Butt added: "There might be a temptation for people to say that the season is over, but it definitely isn't. We have to concentrate on getting up the table now. We've got eight games left starting at Charlton. The fans will want to see the right reaction from the players. We have to get on with it and do the best we can."

Duff hasn't shown the ability you mention often enough, he spends as much time on his arse as he does on his feet. He's looked better in his last couple of games, that's beyond doubt, he still hasn't been good enough.
-
Yes, the pies. I didn't buy them anyway, not much of a sacrafice.
-
I'm not a business analyst but one drawback (if you call it that) would be that getting loans would be almost impossible if uncertainty surrounded the ownership of the club.
-
They might as well print the company cheques with "pay Shepherd Offshore" if they take over.
-
Well would you? If you managed to dishelve Roeder from your arse long enough to sit on a coach? WINK. HTT gets a kicking.
-
http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/6307/teethav8.jpg <-------The reason?
-
No, just you doing that should suffice tbh.
-
Why? I usually buy it myself, but giving money to the club at the moment just seems stupid. I've got three kids and they've had loads of stuff from the club, this year will be the first time in 17 years that the club will not get a penny at Christmas and we usually spend hundreds. I'll buy fake if I have to get new kits and I'll go out of my way to find them, the club can get piss off for all I care. For now they'll get entrance money and nothing, no pies, no drink, nothing.
-
They're so false, could they say anything that would change anything? Your attempt at the top might go down well, anything else would be so hollow.
-
If it had of been the other way around then we'd have been screaming for a penalty, we can have no complaints.
