It will have cost a lot more than the £2 million as the club had to pay all of the costs, I doubt it went as high as £8 million.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2009/mar/25/world-cup-qualifiers-newcastle-sunderland-middlesbrough There was a time when Newcastle United players harboured mixed feelings about being called up for their various international sides. "Kevin Keegan knew the sultan of Brunei and, during the 1990s, he sometimes used to take those left behind at St James' Park in international weeks over to Brunei for mini-breaks," explained the former England and Newcastle midfielder Rob Lee. "Some of us visiting less exotic places with our countries were a little bit jealous." http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=9q0_LcWREVMC&pg=PA47&lpg=PA47&dq=kevin+keegan+sultan+of+brunei&source=bl&ots=WERHCI_ih5&sig=Fc_kqsrfnWFGiCpgXjQFdC01uYQ&hl=en&sa=X&ei=LkNtU8yJEuGI7AaPuIGYBg&ved=0CFUQ6AEwBA#v=onepage&q=kevin%20keegan&f=false http://i57.tinypic.com/2n17uix.jpg

The luxury coach almost certainly happened, I can remember reading about it in The Chronicle at the time he bought it for £750,000.
  7. It's just a pity this didn't all happen 2 months ago, we could have had him out by now, still, better late than never.

Keegan and him were mates if my memory is any good, didn't the Sultan buy us a new coach when Keegan was manager and took the players over to his country?
  9. It's been a great week and a bit to be a Newcastle supporter, apathy has finally been kicked and Pardew and Co are now getting everything they deserve.
  10. It's good to see managers being linked, even if it's bullshit. Pardew will pick up on it knowing that he's not safe and that he was lined up while Hughton was still at the club so he will feel even more pressure.
  11. This could be another negative record for Pardew, I'll be very surprised if we can keep this as low as 0-3.
  12. That's true, I'm not making a case for him, we'd be mad to sign him going off what we've seen here, I still think he's been given the shit end of the stick.
  13. My comment had more to do with the shite we serve up week after week.
  14. It looks like he already has.
  15. I feel sorry for de Jong, I can't think of a worse time for a forward to come to this club on loan and try to force a transfer.
  16. They probably do read them properly, being able to read and being able to comprehend are two totally different things.
  17. Neil Farrington ‏@Neilfarrington · 1m Never mind how, this nails WHY Pardew is under attack. Apologists (& the "look at those daft Geordies" mob) take note http://bit.ly/1mGDJoW
  18. Wullies post should be tweeted at different times during the day to maximise the coverage.
  19. I didn't even see that as it was off my screen.
  20. If that's the case, it should have been left and mocked.
