He played well but his booking was daft and could have put us down to 10 men.
-
Marveaux hardly gets a game so I don't see how he's going to play with consistency.
-
Sorry but no, while fatigued is a factor. Fatigued is not a factor in getting your team to play defensive, long ball, boring, set penis shitness, 4-2-3-1 etc etc etc. Come on, you dont really blame that on the Europa do you. It's like groundhog day today with all of the old excuses getting a new airing.

I don't think he was better than Coloccini, I thought they both played really well and couldn't split them for who was better.
-
We don't have any player I'd rather see on the ball than Ben Arfa.
-
Aye, we only lost because of injuries.
-
That's excellent movement.

Nobody put a gun to his head and forced him so in that way you're right. Other than that he was forced to play that side in as much as players have come into the team when he was forced to play them. They have come in and done a good job and he had more to lose by reverting to type after we'd played well against Fulham and he would know he'd get slaughtered if it went wrong.

What a load of bollocks, team selection isn't 2nd to system, they go hand in hand. Put Tiote in for Anita and you lose the forward playing midfielder who probably didn't put a pass wrong and I can't remember him playing a negative ball all game. Put Taylor in that defence and you introduce the possibility of a calamity every time he's brought into play instead of the assured performance from M'Biwa, swap Jonas for Remy and the game is totally different.

It wasn't much of a mistake, he tried to come out and claim the ball but couldn't get passed a couple of Villa players between him and Benteke. He did what a keeper will normally do but on this occasion claiming the ball wasn't possible.

Sounds like a s*** wedding tbh

Do any of the window lickers think Taylor, Tiote and Jonas would have been dropped? I doubt very much that we'd won today with those players in the team. M'biwa and Anita both made a difference to our play today and I don't think either would have started if Taylor hadn't been sent off against Man City or if Tiote and Jonas weren't both injured earlier in the season. I think Pardew will stick with the starting 11 from today but I can also see him going back to what he likes if things don't go well every game.

Still had to make them play, right? That's what was being said before the game. Can't fault him today. Subs were spot on, too. I grimaced when Tiote was coming on, but he broke up play well and generally disrupted a midfield that was starting to get the upper hand. Glad he's found his horrible cockney balls. Bet they smell of jellied eels. I don't think anybody is faulting him for today.

My timing was slightly out, admittedly.
-
I thought we made them look horrible and he deserves some credit for that.
-
It shows how bad he is when he's praised for getting the most basic of basics right, picking the correct team. Especially when most would have picked that team a year ago other then Remy who wasn't here then.
-
Cisse isn't justifying his place, the only the thing going for him is our lack of options.
-
Nobby is my favourite foreign player ever to play for us, he's getting pushed close by Coloccini and Ben Arfa.

We played really well as a team, not just going forward. I thought Krul was unlucky for the goal because he had two Villa players between him and Benteke. Our central defenders look like they are forming a really good partnership, our midfield was creative, robust and had movement and our front 3 caused Villa Problems but Cisse needs a goal soon. All in all we got what we deserved and could have had a batter result if it wasn't for a shite performance from the officials who seemed to revel in booking our players while missing a clear penalty.

Mike Dean is shite.
