On deadline day they appear to be. Why is any other day any different? QPR managed to start and finish the Remy deal in the space of about 24 hours didn't they? QPR didn't do the deal in 24 hours... It doesn't matter - WUllie's point is correct. They got the player and relatively quickly too after he heard their terms.....we used to do deals quickly when SJH and KK were running the club and quietly too in most cases. The current board are all talk and no action...as for Pardew, he's just a puppet in transfer dealings. It's in no way correct. It is perfectly clear to everyone why Remy went to QPR and how it happened quickly. Even then, it wasn't that quick. In relation to why transfers take place so late in the day - again this is pretty obvious. Unless the selling club actually wants to sell the player, it is 100% in their interest to delay the transfer and take as long over it as possible in order to possibly keep the player or extract more money. The January window is a seller's market. Maybe we should have done more in the summer then.

Did we not bring in Bernard after the window because he wasn't with a club?
-
Debuchy has said in an interview that a fee couldn't be agreed between the clubs in the summer, he didn't say anything about goal posts being moved. "One day I can't leave because the club has not found a replacement, the next day it is because the Newcastle offer is not enough. One day it is the coach who blocked me, the next day it is the chairman." I took moving the goal posts to mean that they accepted a fee and then asked for more which doesn't seem to be the case, that was an excuse used by some in the summer when we didn't get him.

With a bit of luck he'll be getting interviewed for the vacant managers job.

We need a lift and I don't know where it's going to come from, actually I do but I don't know if those running the club have the sense to pull it off.
-
Yet this season we've got none of those excuses and we're worse off than we were then.
-
How do you explain his cousin speaking to him?
-
It shouldn't be one or the other anyway.

Probably another spoof Phil Jones@philjones53 If Remy really has chosen QPR over Newcastle, he's blatantly just gone for the money, and I fear for the future of football #PrayForFootball
-
I'm not too bothered other than him being another body and also that this probably puts the centre half further back.
-
I know it's probably a spoof but, Mario Balotelli@MarioBaloltelli It looks like Loic Remy has chosen QPR over Newcastle. He'll be going for a medical soon. The first thing they will be checking is his head. Expand Reply Retweet Favorite

I still think he'll stay, everybody at the club will know how important he is to us, get him on the pitch against Reading then we can do our bit as fans.
-
Probably 3 times this season, the last time being last Sunday.
-
He needs to play a lot better for us than he's been playing for Marseille this season, hopefully he just needs a change.
-
Liddle has always had a problem with us for some reason, was it him that claimed he was beaten up by Newcastle fans or was that someone else?
-
That tackle from Perch was brilliant, he had no right to get back from his starting position.
-
I think Barton has virtually confirmed it.
-
Cisse doesn't need support, he needs service and playing Shola alongside him doesn't provide that. I'd be tempted to tell Debuchy to play his game in the Reading half and try to get to the byline as often as possible and have the midfield pushing up to give us numbers in the box.
-
Hopefully we can sort out a way of keeping him here.

What he gets paid to turn out for the club will make no difference if he's got other things going on in his life, which he clearly has.
