    Hatem Ben Arfa

Sure he's not talking about Cabaye? He is talking about Cabaye and says that he's our best player, and then hints that Ben Arfa might be better than him when he says "perhaps outside of Hatem." I find it reassuring that Pardew rates Ben Arfa so highly.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Pardew: “He’s our best player, perhaps outside of Hatem, certainly our most influential midfield player
  3. I'd rather have him than a letter, if he'd gone we'd probably have had a letter and they wouldn't have.
  4. I'm no fan of Pardew but I agree with him on this one, it's good man-management.
  5. I'm sure he's capable of missing a few days training.
  6. He's signed a bit of paper which will have taken less time than a phone call. The letter only fires things up if people let it. The letter is nothing.
  7. It looks like his former club have tried to help him and he's thanking them for that.

    Nile Ranger

While here he was done for the assault in Liverpool, other than that he fell out with Shearer and had a bit of a twitter rant, I can't remember anything else.
  9. You don't know what his problems are.

Cumulative misconduct can be classed as gross misconduct. It doesn't matter if other players have done the same thing as him once or twice if he's done it a dozen times. It's not just what he's done, it's the number of times that he's done it, by that I mean bringing bad publicity. I can't remember any player at our club bringing as much bad publicity as Ranger has. I've stuck up for him in the past because of what other have done and got away with but as far as I'm aware he's miles ahead of any other player that we've had. The closest I can think of to Ranger, while here, was Dyer.

Do you think Ranger is bringing bad publicity to the club and has done on a number of occasions?
  12. As fans of our club we've had months of shit to put up with, I don't blame anybody for enjoying what has happened over the past few days, I know that I have. Personally, I agree with most of your thoughts on the negatives and most people probably do to a certain degree, that doesn't mean we shouldn't get any enjoyment at all and at any time.
  13. I hope he turns out to be as good as most of us think he is, he looks like being a massive bargain.

    Alan Pardew

He said on Radio Newcastle that we've brought our summer signings forward.

    Arsene Wenger

He's moaning that some teams have played us twice and will not have to play against our new players.
  16. Excellent, now get him signed quickly.

The stakes make no difference to the outcome of any possible case, the lad who was sacked by Apple was a relative nobody who just posted negative comments of Facebook. Ranger is getting the clubs name dragged through the gutter in the nations press, repeatedly. Every time he is arrested we're plastered all over the papers and on TV. I would think it would be far easier for the club to prove that Ranger was damaging the brand than a nobody from Norwich on social media who was hardly likely to be seen or heard.

That's not relevant as long as they follow procedures which are in place.

Apple sacked somebody in Norwich for damaging the Apple brand by saying negative things on Facebook, every time Ranger is mentioned for his run ins with the law we also get mentioned. They could easily sack him if they have a good disciplinary procedure and follow it, they wouldn't even have to wait for a trial as long as they follow procedures and act fairly.

Not true and I think the club could justifiably sack him now, even if he’s innocent he consistently brings the clubs name into disrepute. The club could probably argue that he's damaging the club brand because of the constant bad headlines which reflect on the club by association.
  21. My hearing has been dodgy for years, selectively. My wifes lips move, my hearing closes down.
  22. Some of the stick Coloccini has had from people who haven't got a clue about what is going on is mad. He's a class player and always seems to want to do his best for us, even when things haven't been going well for him during games. I hope he remains captain as I don't see any reason to kick him while he's down and he clearly will be as for some unknown reason he does/did want to leave the club. He seems to have gone from here to zero in no time because of his wish to leave yet none of us actually know what has happened between him and his family or him and the club. I'm not sure it's safe to assume that the player is always at fault when things go wrong. Something has clearly gone wrong, he's gone from being a model pro who always gave his best to a player who wants away and that doesn't happen without reason.
  23. I'll laugh my bollocks off if you go down after the way some of your fans took so much pride in our demise, that's nothing against you because I know you weren't one of them.

I'm heading back towards safety because of our signings, currently on a 6 or 7.
