Have I missed something or did our MD just name a player who might leave? You can hardly complain about people mentioning the possibility of that happening when it's coming from Llambias.

It happens, that's part of the reason you get free transfers. I'm not saying clubs intentionally let players contracts run out, usually they try to put a new contract in place but it does happen.

    I don't, I do know ours isn't though.

We've unearthed 1 gem so far and as for Enrique, he wanted to play in Europe and we have a good chance of doing that and would have had a better chance of doing so with him.

We could have kept Enrique and I think we would have a better chance of keeping him because I have little doubt that we would have done better this season with him than we have without.

Has anybody said that Tiote is irreplacable? A Tiote replacement could easily turn out to struggle like Obertan has, the more you buy and sell, the more likely you are to make mistakes.

I don't see anything positive about touting Tiote, it's shit and we don't get all of our incoming transfers right so we could just as easily bring in a dud as a good one. We're telling clubs to come and get him and we're virtually telling the player that he'll probably not be here next season.

    U23s & Academy

Ashley doesn't give a shit about 130 years of history. Why should the kids give a shit about a tacky sign which brings nothing into the club and is a symbol which now represents the name of the ground which nobody wants?
  10. Did Villa and us have the same number of games televised?

Shit, I forgot all about this and would have gone.

    Ryan Taylor

Spot on, I would add that we need the 2nd type for now though.

Is Raylor perhaps a bit more comfortable passing? He is, I've seen him passing a player during our last two home games, both times the player has the ball and both times Ryan Taylor went straight past him without making a tackle.

Ryan Taylor over the wall is probably the answer.
  15. Getting paid up front means we'll be very unlikely to fall fowl to a club going down the pan like Rangers have.

I don't have any problem at all with having Ryan Taylor on the bench, especially as he can cover a few positions, I cringe every time he starts.

He is a regular starter, he shouldn't be.
  18. Interesting to note that according to that article the debt has dropped from £150m to £111m, all of which is to Ashley. On the previous set of accounts the debt to Ashley alone was £140m. The piece is blatant propaganda btw. The club owed Ashley £139.8 million in the last accounts, £28.8 million was secured against future broadcasting income, £111 milion was unsecured loans. Of the £28.8 million, £12.3 million was due to be repaid in August 2010, the rest was due after that date and no earlier that August 2011.

I know I'm bumping this but can we let this thread die, they're not worth the effort.
  20. I've got no problem at all with a manager showing a bit of passion, good on him.
  21. We haven't been paid anything so far, obviously the new accounts could have something in them.

I'm not reading all that tonight.
