Bollocks did he, he went around the player and came in from the side.
-
I hope you're not one of those who defended Ryan Taylor earlier in the season when he gave the ball away on our left in roughly the same position which ended up in the back of our net and Simpson got the blame for that.
-
Obertan and Lovenkrands are rubbish and would have offered nothing against a side that was sticking ten men behind the ball. Can't explain why Simpson stayed on the pitch ahead of Santon, though. Presumably cos it meant a like-for-like with Ferguson, which is bullshit cos Santon is obviously a right-sided player anyway. Obertan and Lovenkrands would have offered more than Gosling and Ryan Taylor and no less than Shola and Best.
-
They were two totally different tackles, Simpson went round the player, Tiote went in two footed if I remember right.
-
You don't get booked for giving the ball away, he shouldn't have been booked.
-
I'll defend him when I think he isn't as bad as people make out, he was poor today, partially down to his booking which wasn't a booking.
-
I might have started Lovenkrands and a few of the kids, we weren't motivated and it was exactly the same last season against Stevenage. Even if Lovenkrands wasn't an obvious choice to start, he certainly was when we were a goal behind yet Pardew in his wisdom brought on 3 midfielders which is moronic.
-
Was it any surprise to you that Best and Shola were piss poor?
-
Can anybody tell me why we didn't bring Obertan and Lovenkrands on when we were a goal down and why we took off Santon when Simpson wouldn't tackle in case he got a 2nd card?
-
We fielded 8 of the best players we had before the transfer window, a lack of depth is a poor excuse against a championship side.
-
Our players are never motivated when playing lesser teams, we would have done better with kids.
-
I just hope that the 2nd half is the last time we ever see Shola and Best on the same team other than when playing for the reserves.

Ameobi has been good.

I'd be more p*ssed off at having to drive down to Stoke. living here until late May. It is as bad as perceived. Trust me. I don't have to trust you, I know the place too well.

I'd be more pissed off at having to drive down to Stoke.

I seem to remember Roeder getting his best results when the team picked itself.
-
It was 9 games without a win, 5 draws and 4 defeats and we had mitigating circumstances in 2004-05, like Shepherd announcing that Bobby was in his final season. No wonder the players thought that they could do anything they wanted. Even Man U had problems when Ferguson said that he was going to retire and changed his mind when things were turning to shit for them.
-
And the bit in bold just shows how stupid sacking him was, it's not how you start the season that matters, it's your final position and he was always capable of getting the best out of the players he had.
-
Shola should only ever get a game against the mackems.
-
Where is the lineswoman who gave it? My initial thought was that it was outside and I'm usually quite fair when we do something wrong.
-
In the first half we had Best playing wide left and Cabaye, Guthrie and Jonas playing central with Ben Arfa playing on the right. Second half we had Cabaye and Guthrie in the middle with Jonas playing on the left with Ben Arfa playing more advanced and I think that's why the whole defence moved up.
-
He was playing wider than the first half which was down to instructions at a guess, the same as Jonas who had played an excellent first 45.
-
The defence moved up because we were weaker in midfield and they tried to fill the gap.
-
He showed his class again today, pity he was let down by others.
-
He got the first half and starting 11 spot on, Stroller was shit but he didn't have many options, if any. First half we played a mix of 4-5-1 and 4-4-3 which meant our midfield was solid and the defence coped with everything they could throw at us. They made changes and instead of us keeping the shape that had served us so well, we changed to 4-4-2 and our midfield which had been so strong and gave us the foundation to take 3 points was undone. Our 2 central midfielders in the 2nd half did nothing because they were left exposed badly which then left the centre of our defence exposed. Pardew has cost us the game today, from a winning position we gave away 5 goals and that is pathetic. I don't think his substitutions had any effect, either or positive, the game changed because our formation changed.
