He being better than the man he replaced is debatable, as for who I would play through the middle, I'd start Kadar. We can't go back in time but it might have been a good idea to strengthen a position which was clearly weak before we'd kicked a ball in anger this season.

I think people have been far too carried away in thinking Pardew is better than he actually is and he'll be found wanting before the end of the season. That said, I don't know why people are worrying too much about our next two games when we'll probably have Coloccini back and possibly Tiote. Decisions need to be made regarding Obertan and Ryan Taylor but we need to get other players back before Taylor goes out. Obertan at the weekend will be his first big decision that he has to make. I think he's dropped some bollocks against Norwich and it's up to him to learn from them, we'll have to wait and see. If Coloccini isn't fit for the weekend then it will be interesting to see if he goes with Perch and Simpson through the middle, once is a mistake, twice would be madness.

I don't see much, if any potential in Obertan. People keep going on about his pace yet I have hardly seen any of it. I'm not too bothered about his lack of defending as that is secondary. I do have a problem with a player who gets the ball in space and waits until somebody gets close before he starts going forward and then he runs into the opposition. Obertan will not make it here as far as I can see, he's got nothing going for him and if people are getting to him then that's his problem and he's bringing it on himself, not that I've sensed anything at the match.

Routledge isn't our player, people aren't calling for him. They are comparing our current right winger with a player who played in the same position for us recently. I don't see a better player than Routledge in Obertan.

My guess is that he'll not, Coloccini will come in for Perch and the other 3 will stay the same unless Santon is injured.
