I have no doubt that either Ashley or Llambias approached Pardew. He's still al liar for denying it and I wouldn't trust him as much as I wouldn't trust the people he works for.
We both know he was strongly tipped to have been coming here, I can't think of a more less likely appointment and he'd be the last name I would have used if I was trying to look like I knew something.
I can't stand Best (as a footballer) as I think he's poor but I can't fault him for us not winning tonight, he had nothing to work with which might change when Tiote does come back.
How many chances did the forwards have? I remember Ranger having a shot which he had no right to get on target yet he did and Best has possibly two. The midfield were shit and provided nothing for the forwards to work with.
Pardew is a prick, we've come out of the transfer window weaker and he's allowed that to happen. We've either got the wrong midfield or the wrong forwards, they seem totally incompatible.
I didn't measure the confidence levels and I haven't mentioned it as it's just an excuse for a midfield who provded nothing for 90 minutes for whatever reason.
You forgot to mention that the midfield was so shit that we didn't have a single forward with a decent chance on goal. Carroll playing tonight wouldn't have made the slightest difference with that lack of service.
