Smith contributes nothing, we might as well pick a traffic cone.
-
Guthrie made one mistake which lead to a goal and he clearly kicked the ground which could happen to any player at any time.
-
I'd rather have Guthrie than Smith.

I might get some stick for this but I would go 4-5-1 to start and use more of the experienced players to start, if we do go 4-4-2 then it should be Lovenkrands to start as he's played plenty of big games between Rangers and Celtic. The mackems bottled it because they couldn't cope with the atmosphere at our place and we need old heads so that we don't bottle it. If all of the players are fit, I'd start with: Harper Simpson Enrique Williamson Coloccini Barton Nolan Guthrie Routledge Gutierrez Ameobi

If they win they should play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1wg1DNHbNU

If you're going to win I think you're going to have to score first, if we score first your arses will drop out. I know one thing for certain, no matter what the score, our players will be supported for 90 minutes and they'll not lose half of their supporters at half time. I can’t remember ever seeing anything like last October in all of my time watching football.

Shola is one of the first names I'd have on my team sheet for Sunday, he can play when he feels up for it and he'll be up for it this weekend.
-
I can't see any point in signing Bothroyd for any reason, he's got nothing going for him at all and just looks like a player who is playing at his correct level now.

You've got the canny ability to be wrong.

Are you a qualified mind reader or is it just a hobby?

I only thought that Bobby made 2 or 3 bad buys, 1 was Cort and that was down to injuries and the other was Viana who didn't work out, a third would probably be Bassedas but I didn't think he was that bad. The others were probably at least value for money at that time.
-
What Keegan did was fantastic as was the football. Bobby did save us from relegation as I'm sure that without him we'd have been right in the s***. The players were all devoid of any morale and we had a few players who just didn't seem interested in playing for the club, we’d also spent a fortune and he had to sell to buy. Keegan came in and had plenty of money to spend once he'd kept us in the 2nd division and yes he had some bad buys, all managers do. He had more than his fair share of good buys which more than made uo for it.
-
I was on about the full season before rather than just after 5 games when we were 2nd bottom.
-
I wouldn't argue that Keegan wins it, just not by much. Keegan had it quite good after his first season when he kept us out of the third division. It shouldn't be forgotten that when Bobby came in we were 13th and had hardly a pot to piss in and his first two seasons were a re-building job.
-
There is a comparison, Keegan probably just comes out on top, Bobby wins in European football while Keegan wins in domestic football.
-
I'm not keen on him but he's no worse than most of them.

I think you should try and put yourself in the position of the players who have been openly criticised in the press. Think about how shit you would feel if you had a bad day at work and your boss posted something on your company notice board. Something telling everybody how poorly you had performed the day before. Your boss would probably get sacked for it and you would certainly have a case against your company. Now multiply that by thousands and you probably have an idea how Krul and Ranger have been feeling after seeing their names splashed all over the media.

I completely undervalue what Tiote brings to our midfield? To be honest I think you're going way over the top regarding Tiote and this game. He is a very good player and one that we're almost certain to miss this weekend. Having said that, we absolutely walked a division which had a lot of better teams than Stevenage playing in it and we did that without Tiote. We were playing a team which didn't need Tiote to beat it and it was a game in which only one or two players came out with any sort of credit, Tiote wasn't going to turn around the games of so many players in so many positions. Earlier this season we played a team from the same division as Stevenage and one higher up the league. We fielded a team which contained 11 different players from the one that beat Villa the week before and one that didn't contain Tiote, guess what, we beat them. What do you mean I intentionally omitted the part that Pardew had a 10 point deduction? Pardew knew that his target was and he knew that he had a 10 deficit to make up, he spent £millions to achieve the play-offs and he failed. Why should I mention the points deduction? I would have thought that most people know that clubs like Southampton, Leeds and Portsmouth have had deductions.
-
I don't feel safe with our points total so far, I can see the team spirit taking a hit in the coming weeks if we get a few bad results and the finger pointing carries on.
-
My guess is that it will get to 200 fairly quick.
-
The attacking players weren't the problem, they were given nothing to work with by the same players who couldn't protect the defence.
-
At the beginning of that season he knew he had to finish in the top 6 and missed it by 7 points while he pushed on trying to win the Johnson Paint Trophy or whatever its called.
