If we qualified for Europe this season we would struggle next season because our squad is far too thin. Not that I think we will qualify for Europe.

I wasn't impressed with Spurs today, stick our 3 missing players in our team today and we would have won at a canter.

I could just see a massive gap down our right and thought that he must have been told to play in that position rather than shuffling players around. The space in front of Simpson was massive once Guthrie went off.

We played really well and the players didn't deserve to drop the points. We couldn't have asked for more from them as they were mostly physically shattered, probably mentally as well after the late goal. We didn't have a chance in midfield on paper but the players put in a lot of effort and nullified Spurs, who I didn't think had a goal in them.

Was he in the middle or on the wing?

I'd like to see it again when he hit the bar in front of where I sit, he seemed to look up for Shola and screw a pass but I might be wrong.

He was, he'd put in a good shift until he ran out of steam.

Looking on the bright side, I think that's proof that we're not far off having a good starting 11.

I thought that his substitutions were a bit off today, Ranger should have replaced the ineffective Best and Ferguson should have replaced Guthrie with Jonas moving over to the right. I don't have a problem with playing Perch in defence but where was he playing today? I genuinely have no idea where he was supposed to be playing.

We missed him when he went off, I hope that he's OK and keeps doing the simple things that worked for him today.

To be fair, we did look well organised today.

Routledge did track back, I can't remember seeing Perch doing that when they scored.

Tiote would have made a big difference in both games, bury your head in the sand if you wish.

Our right side was badly exposed once Barton moved inside, I haven't a clue where Perch was playing.

Pity we didn't have Tiote in the last 2 games and Routledge on the bench today, at least that has nothing to do with Pardew.

Ironic isn't it that the day after he goes we needed him and he could have been the difference between a win and a draw.

OK, bringing him on so late today was pathetic. Even giving him half an hour would give him a chance to at least settle into a game and that might just stop him from trying to go for glory with the one or two chances he gets.

Ameobi has never had the pace that Ranger has got, he'll get goals if he's given games.

He had an excellent game today after a shaky start. He was all over the place and put some excellent balls into the box that mainly came to nothing because we didn't have Carroll on the other end of them.

I'd rather see Ranger getting games than Best, at least Ranger looks like he could become a good player.

He had an awesome game today, that goal looked class and I can't wait to see it again.

He's a very poor footballer, our poor players always seem to get better when they aren't playing. He'll come back and be just as gash as he was before he was injured.

We’ll be toothless with Best up front unless the Spurs defence play as badly as the West Ham defence.

Wouldn't that take an evolutionary leap forward?
