  1. Lovenkrands has played less for us this season then Best did last season.
  2. It could have been worse, we could have done the same as Sunderland and promoted our neighbours and rivals.
  3. It's interesting that Mohammed Bin Hammam who comes from Qatar and was going for the presidency of FIFA next year is now rumoured to have dropped his challange to Blatter's position. In the past Bin Hammam has arranged a plane free of charge for Blatter's personal use, it's a good thing that FIFA isn't corrupt.
  4. If we're swapping links, here's one from the UN. http://www.unhcr.org/refworld/country,,,,QAT,4562d8cf2,484f9a3732,0.html
  5. I will elaborate, trafficking of slave labour is rife, they remove passports of people so that they can control them.
  6. I'm sure that I said his head was like a 50p and at the time, it was. He's a totally different player now and has made massive progress.
  7. Maybe you should do some research on human rights before posting stuff like that.
  8. Here's a link to a graph showing all of the bidding countries. http://www.google.com/publicdata/explore?ds=d5bncppjof8f9_&ctype=l&strail=false&nselm=h&met_y=en_atm_co2e_pc&scale_y=lin&ind_y=false&rdim=country&idim=country:QAT:AUS:BEL:NLD:ESP:GBR:PRT:JPN:KOR:USA:RUS&tdim=true&tstart=-315619200000&tunit=Y&tlen=47&hl=en&dl=en&iconSize=0.5&uniSize=0.035
  9. The workers in Dubai weren't only treated like slaves, when the harbour was built at Jebel Ali the "slaves" were dying in the heat and could do nothing about it. They had to hand passports over when they entered the country and couldn't get them back until the work had been completed. This is not a piss take, when I visited Dubai it was so hot that at mid-day you would see a queue of foreign workers standing in a line in the shade of telegraph poles while they had lunch. That was all they could do to protect themselves from the searing heat.
  10. This is old news about Blatter, it's had me in tears. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/world-cup-2010/7891632/Sepp-Blatter-given-embarrassing-nickname-on-World-Cup-award.html
  11. Platini is rumoured to be one of the 2 votes which went to Holland and then moved to Russia once we went out.
  12. Lovenkrands seems to be 5th choice behind Carroll, Ameobi, Nolan and Ranger.
  13. The Yanks aren't too happy with the voting so they might start to look closer at FIFA and the 22 who had a vote.
  14. That rules Europe and South America out of ever having another WC as it would be pointless.
  15. It's debatable if Best is better than any of them, he's done less than any of the others since coming here. He hasn't looked capable of scoring in any league game, I can only remember him having one shot on goal despite getting into goal scoring positions. He shouldn’t get anywhere near the starting 11 unless he starts banging goals in for the reserves, he’s currently no better than 4th or 5th choice, or at least he should be based on performance..
  16. If that was true then why go to a country which is smaller than Wales and has a population which may or may not be a little bigger than the poulation of Tyne & wear?
  17. I doubt that hosting a tournament is going to change anything, at least not long term.
  18. I'm sure football is the best supported sport in Russia.
  19. Are people really expecting Best to become a useful Premiership footballer?
  20. I've been to Qatar in May and the heat was repressive at 45 degrees plus and I wasn't running around, I think this is a massive balls up. Just being in a stadium will be bad enough; playing football will be a health hazard.
  21. What if I mentioned that Souness spent almost £50 million to take us to 15th when sacked?
  22. I'm not sure if you are agreeing or not.
