  1. To be honest, I can't remember 6 things about Forest.
  2. That was the best celebration ever
  3. My mistake, I obviously misunderstood the "Couldn't agree more" reply.
  4. I thought that you were bored with the thread.

    The RIP thread

    The thread isn't big enough.
  6. The text/e-mail story is easier to go along with, people seem to feel better if they can lay some of the blame on taylor as it's easier than saying that we should play Carroll because he's scoring goals.
  7. Mainly, they were shits during the strike. I can't remember anything like the miners strike during my life as we became a police state and striking miners were killed on the picket line. Many thousands of miners were arrested on charges which hadn't been used for almost a century and the cases were dropped once the strike was over because they had no evidence. Tens of thousands were charged and put under curfew to keep them away from the picket lines.
  8. Hughton didn't seem to know much about what was going on so I doubt that it was him unless he was just trying to avoid answering questions. As for the stock of our players, it didn't stop players like Martins, Bassong, Beye, Duff, Xisco or Owen finding clubs. Out of those I've just mentioned I think two were worth keeping, the others were not worth keeping and Martins is one of those as he rarely lived up to his own hype.

    Sunderland...

He's a good player but I doubt he'd sign for the mackems.
  10. I'm not doubting our position was poor when Ashley took over, I just think he had plenty of opportunities to turn things around and he didn't do that, he made us worse.
  11. No, he's had a mention in the article I posted when you asked if farrington had made any comment.
  12. Barton doesn't seem to have any involvement and it hasn't been suggested anywhere that he has.
  13. To be fair, it hasn't looked too bad until this lot kicked off.
  14. It's not just this, Barton was supposed to have been at his worst again. It looks like you're OK as long as you're in the click.
  15. I agree and I think the stance taken by the club is because we have a player who is potentially going to help us get promoted and will have a transfer value.
  16. I'm no fan of Shepherd, honestly. But he can't be blaimed for our relegation as Ashley had plenty of chances to turn things around.
  17. Squad unity and team spirit isn't that good, if it was we wouldn't have this thread.
  18. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/sundaysun//tm_headline=steven-taylor-s-exit-is-on-hold%26method=full%26objectid=26123167%26siteid=79310-name_page.html Steven Taylor's exit is on holdMar 28 2010 by Neil Farrington, Sunday Sun NEWCASTLE'S ruthless plan to sell broken jaw victim Steven Taylor this summer may rest on whether he is fit for a full pre-season's training. After internal discussions following the bathroom incident which left Taylor in need of surgery and a two-night stay in hospital, United appear ready to try to cash in on the defender while sticking with his alleged assailant, Andy Carroll. Despite the nationwide furore over the latest flashpoint, Carroll, who is awaiting trial on an ABH charge, appears to have received the support of influential figures in the Magpies’ dressing room. By shocking contrast, sympathy for Taylor, who has had titanium plates fitted to repair a double fracture of his jaw, seems in short supply at St James’ Park. And the 24-year-old centre-half is also the subject of an online campaign bizarrely intent on laying much of the blame for the alleged bust-up – which, contrary to reports, did NOT stem from a dispute over wages – at his door. But while the likes of Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham have already been linked with a summer move for Taylor – who would love to stay put on Tyneside – their interest may depend on him being up to a return to training in early July. Although the basic healing time for a double fracture of the jaw is six to eight weeks, professional sportsmen are usually warned against resuming full-contact activity for four months, and some victims take up to six months to recover full strength and feeling in their face. Taylor also faces a struggle not to lose a significant amount of weight – a classic symptom of being restricted to a liquid diet. Surprisingly, Newcastle boss Chris Hughton yesterday insisted he still has “hope” that Taylor will be back in action before the end of the season. But Hughton refused to comment on how Taylor suffered his fresh injury or why Carroll has been pictured with both of his hands heavily bandaged. United are said to have been rocked by another player row just two days before the Taylor incident. Joey Barton is understood to have clashed with Fabrice Pancrate in an argument over a tackle during training on the eve of Newcastle’s trip to Bristol City last Saturday. Barton was not then included in the squad which travelled to Ashton Gate, while French winger Pancrate was an unused substitute. Meanwhile, Shola Ameobi could return to the Newcastle frontline tomorrow – alongside Carroll – for the promotion showdown with Nottingham Forest at St James’ Park. Mike Williamson is also fit to return to the centre of United’s defence.
  19. I hope that it's both then we have two celebrations instead of one.
