I'd expect the first £10 million will get him.
-
I can't believe the stick Milner is getting in here. He might not be the best player in the league but he's not as bad as the stick he's getting.
-
I've gone for 2 years as he'll not go part through a season unless something goes wrong and I don't think that'll happen. He could also sign a new contract and stay longer if things go really well for him and us.

  Butt His inability to pass would rule Butt out.

Having a manager who wanted his own team didn't help.

I was starting to twitch a bit when we lost to Southampton and we were near the bottom.
-
The cup kept our seasons alive without doubt but the seasons other than that weren't too clever and the way we lost both was shocking.
-
We've qualified for Europe twice by being beaten cup finalists, I'm sure we were 13th in the league both times.

This is just a guess but probably compared to when Bobby was here.
-
I'm just glad he's got off to a good start.

The price we pay for a player will not alter how they play for us, Shearer cost us a transfer record, he would have been just as good if we'd get him on a free transfer. We've signed an international for what looks to be next to nothing and that doesn't mean he's not going to perform, I'd rather have him cheap than Kaboul for what could turn out to be a stupid fee. Souness spent almost £50 million while turning a 5th placed team into one that struggled, Sir Bobby spent £15 million turning an 11th placed team into one that at one stage before major injuries looked like title contenders. Actions speak louder than words, Keegan said nothing before we signed Gutierrez so him saying nothing now means nothing. You're right, Keegan hasn't got a good record of hiding his feelings, surely that should be a sign that he's OK with what is going on behind the scenes.

I probably didn't word my post very well as I meant somebody within the club thought that the players were the right price. As for getting what was left, how many of the players would you consider in that way? Press speculation isn't soundly based speculation, most of the time its shite generated so sell the shite newspapers, and they’re in it to make money from sales and advertisements so they come up with names to get as many readers as possible. Somebody might post a link to where press speculation is watched to see how often they are right, I doubt it’s much better than that of Nico. The Kaboul comment seems to be in desperation, the mackems are ambitious because they are after a player who has played less than 80 first team games, 21 in this country and he hasn't won a full cap for his country. Yet quite a few on here don't think we are ambitious and we have recently signed a full Argentinean international who has played almost 200 first team games as club level.

Did he hurt himself when he fell down the stairs?

I will believe what is known to be true, until press speculation is confirmed then it's baseless shite. I can't understand how anybody can take the stance that "consider a lot of soundly based speculation until proven incorrect." Somebody asked the idiot on the Blackburn Forum about his ratio of stories coming true, I think he said 1 in 20 yet people still read the papers and take what they say as fact when even they admit that they have a record of getting 95% wrong. As for the figures you've mentioned, they are nothing more than a stab in the dark. Nobody has mentioned how much we have to spend other than what we have actually bid or spent. If it is anything like last year then we'll make money available for players at the right price. We’ll not get to a figure then stop buying, we’ll buy who the manager wants as long as we’re not having to pay more for him than we think he’s worth.

Ashley paid off £70 million and has had £25 million of failed bids for players while not having sponsorship income to spend, he's doing his best to bring about an improvement. I can't understand how you can say that he hasn't shown it yet. He's already said that he's not in it for the money so the extra cash that the club now has by not servicing debt is available to spend on whatever the club wants.

The old board did bring Keegan here, I think it was the idea of George Forbes as he gets the credit from Peter Malinger who was on the board at that time and Bob Young credited Forbes a while ago in the Journal. Keegan said that he wouldn't have come back under the old board when questioned soon after his arrival this time. As for Keegan doing better, I can't really see it because the league is much stronger now than it was when he was last here, I'll put a wager on that he doesn't, no problem. As for your sig, I actually said: "I think Keegan would be a daft option, he's been here and done the best he could. I don't think he'd do any better second time round and possibly ruin his reputation amongst the fans." I still think that and he wouldn't have been my choice when Allardyce was sacked but I'll still support him because of what he's done in the past. And I think he's the best manager we've had since Bobby was sacked.

Ashley has already done something which the previous owners couldn't have done, they managed to get Keegan back.

You should stop sending hidden messages.

To be fair, I think we've been given him too much slack, even two isn't that good.
-
I'm shocked at that, I thought he'd taken over the 2nd best team and taken us to 13th, I must be confusing him with somebody else.
-
It could be but it could also be like when Distin went to Man City. Edit. That would be like a player turning down Liverpool to go to West Brom.

I can't see why his ex would follow him to LA when she left him in the first place unless she is going to America anyway.
