The last bit is key. If we score early on, i fancy us to hammer them KK style.
-
Have to say i'd have liked him only on loan but I think Saviola is the better prospect, Can play as striker or attacking midfield. We'd only really need a powerhouse in a holding midfield role and a left back. Ideal situation is Saviola, Attacking midfielder, Holding Midfielder and left back but a bit of a big ask in 2 weeks unless the deals have been worked on for sometime. When it comes to centre midfielders, we need someone with a "quality" that they can bring to the side. Now i know that sounds obvious but what i mean is, we need someone who can bring a more specfic attribute. For example, if we brought in Tim Cahill we know he would get beyond the strikers and grab us a few goals from midfield or if we got Diarra we know he would dominate the midfield and win the ball. Although, Tiago is decent on the ball i feel right now we need a player that adds something special to our midfield.

Really is shocking.
-
Not that arsed about Tiago. Would have been a good addition in a needed area but i believe there are better players out there for us.
-
Hope we do get him because he would be a great addition.

http://www.premiershiplatest.com/news/everton-miss-out-again-moutinho-tiago-5513147.html Taken from the mail i believe. It also says he doesn't fancy a move to england.
-
Oddly, it would do him the world of good to join sunderland. Still think he will make a good centre back in a couple of years.
-
Mail says he's turned them down according to SSN. "Despite lengthy negotiations with Juventus over Tiago, and appearing to be on the verge of agreeing a fee for a season-long loan, Everton chiefs were rocked by claims the former Chelsea midfielder had no intention of returning to England." Would rule out us too then, if we are to believe that.

Given Beye Taylor Coloccini N'Zogbia Butt Guthrie Milner Jonas Duff Martins 3-1 Elmander, Martins, Guthrie and Owen (from the bench)
-
Good good. Wouldn't that be a nice bit of buisness. Saviola in Ameobi out and a 2.5m profit
-
Have no interest in snooping around spurs targets. I think we have proved we can pick up good players on our own.
-
Really have good feelings about Taylor and Coloccini as a partnership. KK talking today about how they could be playing beside each other for the next 5 years. Would be great if that could happen. Also had occured to me that we have finally got a class centre back who has enough leadership characteristics to be captain. If Owen goes......
-
Height is actually an irrelevant subject, what matters is the ability to contest and head the ball. Which, of course, is helped by height. Colo, Taylor,Owen, Martins,Viduka and Beye all are very good at contesting the ball aerially. As well as this we have Jonas who is a man mountain, that's 7/11. I think attacking wise we should all be looking at how good our delivery of the ball is, not the size of the players.
-
Exactly. I remember Bobby said in his autobiography that his scouts found him the gems and he polished them. Similar relationship here, nothing wrong with it, if it works.
-
Still convinced Warnock will be the next signing. I'm sure i read in one of the papers that Blackburn had given up hope of keeping him and that they were planning on signing George McCartney (i think) as a replacement. I do believe we are in for Saviola and Tiago but they could be touch and go.
-
Diamond will never work i'm afraid, which is what that formation looks like. This perhaps; Guthrie Butt Jonas Saviola Owen Martins
-
As much as Owen is good player for us it wouldn't suprise me if KK decided to get rid.
-
Type of player i can see KK making into a real star.
-
Absolutely. In theory if we signed Warnock, Saviola and Tiago, it would be arguabley the most productive window out of all the teams. That's a big IF mind.
-
More like: Given Beye Taylor Coloccini Warnock Butt Guthrie Milner Jonas Saviola Martins
-
Saviola would be a great addition, very similar to Owen of old i believe. Him and Martins would scare the shit out of defences with their pace.
-
Warnock, Tiago and Saviola at a guess.
-
Such a unique player. Rarely do you find a winger that has pace, power, height, passing ability and a thirst for a tackle as much as that. My only slight worry is that he doesn't look like a goalscorer, but he offers so much.

Ratings; Given- 7 Did everything he had to and justified his selection. Beye- 7 Looked after Giggs and Evra Taylor- 8 Won everything, can't be faulted. Coloccini- 7 Neat and tidy, good debut. N'Zogbia- 6 Never really influenced the game, decent at the back Milner- 7 Worked his socks off for the team, rarely lost possestion Butt-5 Not sure how he got MOM tbh. Guthrie- 7 Never lost the ball, very excited by this lad. Jonas- 9 Don't need to say a thing. Duff- 6 Not great but can't fault effort and again rarely lost the ball for us. Martins- 7 Fed on scraps but got his goal.

Agree, Guthrie's been our best player alongside Jonas imo. His set pieces are quality as well, great corner he put in for Martins there. Coloccini looks solid as well, good in the air and strong as anything. Proud as anything with the performance, went crazy when the goal went in, awesome stuff. We look a tad blunt going forward but that's to be expected against the best defence in the country I guess and we've been excellent in maintaining possession. Really chuffed, just hope it continues. Agree about Guthrie, looks like a young Scholes on the ball.
