Yorkie, people would prefer to think that Oba has an attitude problem than it was a mis understanding. Personally, it would be crimianl to get rid of him, especially when we have just got a manager who can utilise him in the correct way.

There are those who seem to have sway with the mods but i'd say most of those have been generally good posters and have earned that right. There are some who probably don't derserve the right to make threads but it aint for me to make that judgement.

I've been part of this board for about 2 and a half years. I liked it then and i've never stopped liking it. The only problem i have is that there is far too much bikering. Not arguing and general constructive critisism but bitchiness. There is also too many people who make negative comments in order to be seen to be negative. Most of the time it probably isn't even there opinion, they just want to sound like some sort of loyalist. I agree with the action that has been taken.

Actually you have hit on a very good point there. I don't think he has enough shots on goals. If he got his movement and first touch sorted he'd probably create a couple more opportunities for himself.

The question is, has Oba got the abilty in the sack if he manages to get his load under control?

Martins talent needs some severe nurturing before it is too late. The fact that he can score 17 goals in his maiden season in english football despite not convincing everyone that he is using his full ability speaks volumes. Also taking into account that he has yet to have played up front with a good or consistent partner. I understand the critisism that the lad gets because he can be frustrating but we need to be positive about his future. Thank fuck we have a competent manager now.

Bollocks to Distin TBH. Campbell and Hypia are still maintaining a higher standard of defending than Distin has ever played in my eyes. The positives that Distin has is that he is free, quicker and younger. He doesn't have any more experiance. At the moment all i would care about is getting Ben Haim through the doors. That is crucial in my eyes. After that either one of Hyypia of Campbell as a mentor fro Taylor would be fantastic. Then as NUFCO6 says a left back and we would be sorted. I'd get silvestre TBH.

First of all, i dont particularly rate Bent. He's stong and quick which is two extra ticks for Allardyce though. Personally, i don't see oba going anywhere. However, if i was the manager and i had an idea that Owen wanted out the first thing i would do is get an offer on the table for Dean Ashton. Class act and soon to take over the england mantle (from Owen) i believe. We need one of two types of strikers. Either someone big and strong who can hold up the ball and score goals (ashton) or someone with a creative touch that can drop deep and change the game. In my personal opinion we should look no further than Eidur Gudjohnsen. Can't see it happening though.
