I don't particularly like pink (one of northern rocks colours) but would prefer the northern rock logo put on top of a pink background in that little square, the black looks out of place. I like the design of that away top but not the colour.

The fact that he can play as a defensive midfielder suggests he's a decent footballer technically. I would prefer it if Allardyce had this kind of thinking. If a defender gets injured Rozenhal can't fit in, if a midfielder gets injured he can do the same there. It's a better attitude to have than pissing it all away on another midfielder, even though i rate Diarra.

Sounds like a good signing for me. He may not be a world beater but right now we need capable defenders that can control the ball and such like. For 3m if he turned out to be gash it would not be the end of the world. It would not suprise me in the slightest if this trend didn't continue for signing foreign players for low fees on low wages (probably) that few of us have heard of.

I agree. Given is our most consistent player but if there was one player i would want to keep it is Taylor because he is a young talented geordie defender and they are rare. Milner would be up there as well mind, and that little welsh bloke that gets injured.

Diouf is a good player, no more, no less. It would take 6m or more to get him form Bolton, which for me is too much for a player in a position we are well covered in. As much as i would like us to have a big squad on the attacking front, defence MUST be our priority at the moment. We can always try last minute deals for players like Diouf.

TBH none of them stand out. Nicky Butt- Experianced, winner and plays in the centre of the park which i like. Taylor- Captain for the future, not quite ready yet. Given- Long time servent but i don't think he possesses captain qualities and don't like the idea of goalkeepers as captains. Emre- Not consistent enough Nobby- Would be a good choice but not garuenteed a first team place and isn't a long term option Joey Barton-Would be the only one with ALOT of captain qualities but you can never be sure with new signings. Micheal Owen- Hasn't shown any commitment to us.
