  1. Bloody good teamwork from the lads, half time report; Given- 8 Kept us in it early on Beye- 7 Fairly solid against Evra Coloccini- 7 Worked his way into the game Taylor -7 Not done anything wrong Zoggy- 6 Not been in game much Milner- 6 Worked hard Butt-7 Same as above Guthrie- 8 Dictating the play for us, bargain on this 45 Jonas-8 Working his socks off defensively, skinned Rooney Duff- 6 Looks better on the ball, spritely Martins- 7 Always sniffing, took his chance So far very impressed. Shutting the media up.
  2. Keegan never fails to amaze me. The guy is motivation machine. I get the feeling the players will go out there with nothing to lose. Decent team selection. Good as chance as any to get something here. C'mon the boys.
  3. I actually reckon there's little or no pressure on him today, contrary to popular opinion. As long as he does the simple things right, he won't put any pressure on himself.
  4. Given Beye Taylor Coloccini N'Zogbia Butt Guthrie Milner Jonas Duff Martins vs Van der Sar Brown Ferdinand Vidic Evra Carrick Scholes Fletcher Giggs Rooney Campbell If our midfield can keep Scholes and Giggs quiet, then we can cut their supply line to Rooney (their main threat) and it will give us a great chance.

    Sunday Gossip

Almost creamed my pants reading this. The best goalscorer in the world, would add a massive punt of ££££ to Big Mike's wallet. Would fit nicely in the club's plans to make us a "world club" as well, as he is well known and admired all over. No chance for two reasons. 1. Van Nistelrooy is valueable to Real, he's their main striker. 2. I can't see him wanting to move here for various reasons. However, if this is true, it's nice to see us going for this sort of player.
  7. Yes been thinking this all summer. I mean Man Utd haven't signed anyone of signifcance, Arsenal have signed Nasri, Chelsea have two. The only "real" big spenders have been spurs and perhaps Villa. The likes of City, Blackburn, Everton, Pompey haven't spent much. If anything we have made more significant signings than them, although we do need to.
  8. Take Smith out put N'zogbia on left and Milner up top I think he's saying what he expects not what he would do.
  9. Just want a good performance. If we go there look fairly solid, industrious and create a few openings i will be happy. Can't expect a win but what i do expect, in KK's words is to "have a go". Oba would make a massive difference but if Smith plays then the same applies, lets go there, give them a game and come out with our heads held high.
  10. My worry isn't that Oba won't play, it's that Smith will.
  11. Fancy us to sign 3, 4 will be pushing it. I will be intrigued to see who those 3 are though.
  12. Great to see two "top four" challengers lose on the opening day, spurs must be pig sick of the north east. Takes a bit of pressure off our game tommorow, even if it is the first day of the season. Maybe the media can bore their fans with the "crisis" talk.
  13. I haven't seen Coloccini play, so i couldn't really answer. However, going off reputation and the fact i hate Woodgate, no guessing which way i voted.
  14. Abdoulaye is comfortably a premiership centre half, bordering on a very good centre half. He's dominant and can play in DM, which suggests an adequate ability on the ball. Amady Faye was shit for us. However, with respect, we were looking for an all together different calibre of player than Stoke. Baring in mind he was quite good for Pompey, before we signed him, there is hope. At worst he will be a squad player. Good luck for the season.
  15. Great signing for Stoke for that money. Time to bring in a another body then.
  16. Bassong can play both so i imagine the next signing will simply be a left back.

    Alan Smith

Keegan said "I don't want Smith to leave", doesn't mean he won't.
  18. Bad memories. He actually had a decent game in that one. It was also the first time Boumsong totally crumbled. Didn't he scored a goal early on which was ruled offside even though he was miles onside? Yes and he lifted the ball over ferdinands head to volley inchs past the post.
  19. That's the one i would go with. Just makes complete sense at old trafford, not to be defensive but to frustrate them and rely on the likes of Jonas and Martins to hurt them. Nice idea. More like this though: Given Beye Taylor Coloccini Enrique Guthrie Butt Milner Zoggy Jonas Martins If you were doing that, I'd swap Jonas with Charles. Right now i feel uneasy about Jonas through the middle because i haven't seen enough of him, however Zoggy prefers that position and i believe he would cause problems. Not a major issue, i'm sure as the season wears on i will see more of Jonas to convince me he can play through the middle. Matter of opinion really, i can see why like.
  20. Can't really afford to get rid of such a decent/verstile player at this stage in the window. Not a world beater in our squad but he definately adds some depth in an important area.
  21. This. Except edging towards content.

  23. In order of Likelihood; Warnock Tiago Larsson add a striker, or if needs be swap larsson for one, and i'd bite your hand off I meant the next one will be one of those 3. I believe the next two signings will be Warnock and Tiago. Any more news on Tiago? I thought he was off to the Toffees. Baptista would be nice but it looks like he might be off to Roma. Lots of conflicting stuff. The truth is noone knows what the crack is but i think it's safe to say we are in for him. He would be a great addition IMO.
