  1. Roll up, roll up, this is the scapegoat thread, welcome one and welcome all. Treat this thread as your allocated personal post-loss punchbag. May I tempted you in a few of these: "This cunt was just kept on because he's good around the place". "He's been shite for years". "Should have been nowhere near the pitch today." "WOULD RATHER PLAY A YOUNG KID!!!". Got a 2 for 1 offer on if you arrive quick enough. Reminder that next fixture the Matt Richie scapegoat thread will be closed and we will rightly returning to the Trippier thread or maybe even the Miggy thread.
  2. Lads, we shit again right? Who's the scapegoat? I need someone to blame to make me feel better about not being able to control my emotions.
  3. Most clubs who play 1 striker, only have 2. That's why versatility is so important.
  4. Howe will only play Gordon striker if it works tactically. He may decide to let Joelinton play there initially or even Willock. Don't be surprised if there's a suprise.
  5. Tough call between Miley and Hall. Howe might choose Richie and opt for options on the bench.
  6. Getting points at Wolves isn't for everyone.

    Callum Wilson

    Gordon has been done there.

    Harvey Barnes

Back training on grass. Finally some positive injury news.
  9. From what I've seen of them, they look awful. The goals they conceded against Wolves were shocking and naive. Gary O'Neil did a super job keeping them up last year. They'd be certs for relegation if it wasn't for the 3 promoted sides. They aren't the side that came to SJP and looked well organised.
  10. I'd love to see Joelinton start in the 6 he did against Man U. Him, Willock and Longstaff will out run any midfield, so I've no worries there.
  11. Let's call a spade a spade here, they are shite and provided Wilson makes it, we've got a strong 11 on the pitch and should be beating them. I'd go even further in saying that Livramento gives us an attacking threat from LB that Burn doesn't, so theoretically we could be BETTER in that regard. We are missing Bruno but we were missing him against Man United and were class. Defend properly and take our chances.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Phillips is a no brainer for me. He fits Eddie's style, where as he's not the technical player Pep likes. He can also play 6 or 8, which is the versatility we look for. Give him a few weeks at Newcastle and he'd be an absolute asset to us.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

If he's on 300k, we won't be signing him.
  14. It's a red card like but I agree it probably wasn't intentional. It's however part of Man Uniteds DNA now that they try and shoot themselves in the foot. Feels like every game is either a red card, hand ball or a goalkeeper howler.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

We had to get our outgoing ASM sale ratified. Not sure it works the other way. Regardless, we can find a deal if we want one.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

If we want Neves, we will just sign him permanently. 40m is fair market value.

    Tino Livramento

    Hall... if its full backs.
  18. Pope Trippier Lascelles Schar Tino Joelinton Longstaff Willock Miggy Gordon Wilson If Wilson is out, then Miley/Hall come in and we have a switcharound. I don't think this team can take one more injury. It's too soon for Isak to be risked IMO.

    Tino Livramento

But then you have Trippier at LB constantly putting us in trouble.
  20. I've hardly seen much criticism at all to be fair. Actually it's been one of the more reasoned post match loss threads.

    Kieran Trippier

Give him a break so England can benefit? Seems pointless.

    Tino Livramento

No where near as bad on the right. On the left he didn't have a clue where to pass.
  23. STM

    Kieran Trippier

Aye, if I were Howe I'd pull him out of international duty or at the very least the second game.
