Jesus man. You clearly aren't understanding my point. Our bench is OK. Liverpools is slightly better (based on this weekend). I could go through probably 16 teams and show you that their benches are comparable or worse than ours. It's a myth that that many teams ever have bundles of quality on the bench and we are no different.

Feel like West Ham would flourish under a progressive coach. If only their owners were more like Brighton and knew where to find good young coaches. They've got a canny squad.

These last 2 seasons have been spectacularly bad from Leicester. Don't even see them attracting a good manager. Relegated this year or next IMO.

Aye but thats not their bench . We could add Miggy to ours. My main point is that even the so-called big squads rarely have bundles of glittering talent on the bench. It's normally 3/4 real quality stars and a few younger prospects.

Was saying this the other day. We want 6 players. You don't have to be a mathematical genius to realise that 6 of the calibre we will want is going to cost a pretty penny. Hopefully we will get one decent bosman and also get some funds back from sales.

Perhaps we couldn't afford 50m last summer but can this summer. Very binary viewpoint. There's a million moving parts that go into transfers. From everything I've heard, Leicester wanted waaaay more than 50m.

For a player of Maddisons quality + his contract situation, I think somewhere around 50m would be fair. His value this season has gone up due to performances but his contract has shortened. We shouldn't fuck about. If we were prepared to pay 45m for Gordon, 50 for Maddison should be fairly straight forward.

I think we overrate other clubs benches to be fair. Just for comparison, Liverpools bench from yesterday (on the right), only Firmino and Nunez of note:

I 100% think we have Maddison lined up. The worry is us being gazumped by a City/Chelsea who will go much further on wages.

It's a non issue. Dummett hasn't played this year, if we extend his contract it's for the purposes of having "institutional" men around the squad. I've no doubt that Dummett is already working towards finding a backroom role within the club or even somewhere like Gateshead. He won't play next year unless we have a major crisis.
