Did one of those predictor things and ended up with: 3rd Man U: 75 4th Newcatle: 68 5th Spurs: 64 6th Liverpool: 60 I wasn't overly positive either. Had us drawing at home to Brighton, drawing away to Villa and getting beat off Arsenal. Had us beating both Spurs and Man United at home like. I know these things are hard to predict but it certainly suggests we have a chance.

Turning my point on its head but I understand where you are coming from. Scott McTominay is of a much higher standard than Cleverly IMO.
-
Well he's played loads of games for a side that finished 3rd, amongst other top 6 finishes. I thought if I argued he was a top 4 player, I'd undoubtedly get push back. Let's not fall into the trap of saying that just because someone isn't world class or even an elite level player means they are shite and don't have worth. I've seen plenty of "decent" players contribute to league winning sides over the years. Just saying "he's shite man", is disingenuous and gets us nowhere IMO.

Just realised Henderson is still in the England squad. That's incredibly embarrassing. Not fancy moving forward Gareth?

Going to be gutted when we don't sign Madders in the summer.

I've got 10 year olds in my U10s side with better footballing brains and skill than Jack Colback. He wasn't even a physical specimen. Really weird.

Don't be this guy. McTominay wouldnt have been someone I would have targeted but we have real football people at the top of our club now. I'd imagine if I was sitting in a room with Ashworth and Howe and asked them why we wanted McTominay, they would have a 20 minute presentation prepared, which would go into good detail the reasons why they think he's a good signing. It's not entirely obvious the reasons why we are looking at him but it's probably something to do with: Nationality Pedigree Price Age Physical ability Experience Versatility Personality And while one might argue that 20/30m is too much for McTominay. Its high time we realised that 20/30m is no longer big money for a top 8 midfielder, who could serve the club for 7/8 years and if we did decide to move him on, might get 50% of that back. Also, I'm 100% convinced we go big this summer. If McTominay is followed by a Maddison etc, it might look decent business.

Makes you wonder whether journalists have been getting their wires crossed when phone tapping. "Newcastle want to sign Harrison and Rice".

What happened to Chiesa?
-
Absolutely this.. also Rafa Silva or whatever his name is.

So far their transfer strategy has been top notch. They aren't changing it FFS. Funny how I saw Howe talking about FFP constraints again..... for the 4th window in a row.

That ones a cunt.

Lovely bloke Alan Smith.

I literally look at the Man United kit, badge, stadium and players as the embodiment of pure evil. Fergy= evil cunt Keane= evil cunt Their badge= the actual devil Their colour= red, a warning colour All their fans are absolute arseholes. Least knowledgeable, tainted by success.

Let's not overreact like guys.

Not a massive fan of McTominay. That's not to say he's a bad player, he just wouldn't be your Bruno esq signing. I suspect the reason we might be targeting the likes of him and Tierney is something to do with homegrown quotas? Or have I got that wrong and it doesn't work like that. Also, if we do sign him, it will be a decent deal. We won't over pay (I know value is a subjective thing). I'm certainly not worried. Our transfer team have nailed it so far.
-
The second baldy says "the worry is", in that article, what he's actually saying is "I think...". It's all an opinion piece. I suspect there is interest in McTominay.

That win against Forest was gargantuan. We've effectively just replaced our batteries with nice shiny new ones. If we beat Man United we will make top 4 for sure IMO. A draw wouldn't be terrible in all honesty.

My take was that ASM was awful but that doesn't mean he IS awful or can't be useful in the future. The more and more he shows inconsistencies, the more likely it is that Howe will be tempted to cash in. It seems he's a "horses for courses", type player. But I still haven't worked out which course. Neither Wolves nor Forest were counter attacking games and he was good in one and poor in another. If someone offered us 40m for him, I'd take it. We could use that to get Diaby for a few more million and instantly improve us but I'd also not be unhappy to see ASM next year.

Also, Anderson playing like a man and not a boy. Almost bullish on the ball, like a 16 year old Rooney used to be. Hopefully, it sets the tone for future performances from him.

Few things on that match cam: The play for the Isak goal was unreal. Was like 4 passes super quick. Botmans elation at the final whistle. Takes alot to get the big man stoked like that. Bruno not entirely knowing the words to EIEIO is cute. The raw footage inside the scrum of celebration was epic.

Mitro should get a massive ban for that.
