Howe will take criticism if he starts Joelinton, therefore he won't IMO. As for Isak/Maxi, if Isak starts wide left before Maxi it is a slap in the face for the latter. Even though Joelinton is a big player for us, him starting from the bench shouldn't cause us too much weakness. Besides, it's high time Maxi gave us a good game. We can't afford Joelinton to not be in the squad. We simply don't have the midfielders to sit on the bench.

We can laugh at Chelseas crisis but if Potter doesn't sort it out, another top coach will step into the void and sort them out and like it or not, they have bundles of talent. Their biggest problem is how much money they continue to spend and whether there is an end to it.
-
Yeah this is a window to be reactive. Things will spice up towards the end, let's see how things play and then we can make our move. Tifo's suggestion of Conner Gallagher makes sense to me. The thought of what Eddie Howe could do with a talented young player is mouth watering. I don't have much knowledge of the European market but I'm sure there will be European players with similar profiles who we can target but if Chelsea are still throwing money around they may be willing to sell.

Think you have to show some sort of internal discipline on the outside. Fine, plus perhaps dropping him. Howe will offer him support internally though. Slap his wrist, make a show of it and move on.
-
He will be dropped for Fulham. Maxi will come in and then Joe will be back for Palace.
-
Not it's not. That's what you do.
-
Had on lads, there's a spectrum here though right? Being over the limit is stupid. Being pissed swerving down the road etc is reprehensible.
-
Was my first thought too. I hope there is a somewhat reasonable explanation.
-
Bloody idiot. Still love him though. He could probably murder a child and I'd still love him, mind.
-
This ends now. I'm wholly uncomfortable defending Maguire any further.
-
Either you overrate Lascelles or under rate Maguire. Either way, I'm not going to advocate us signing Maguire because I don't want him either but he's a markedly better than Lascelles.
-
Howe would get the best out of Maguire and Maguires best is a top 6 player at least IMO. That said, he's severely damaged goods, on hefty wages and no spring chicken. So it's a no go. We were linked with Shaw weren't we? Did he ever sign a new contract?
-
Reckon we might go back in for someone like Harrison. If Leeds are still signing players, we might get the green light from them and while some might think we have "moved past" signing someone like Harrison, if our recruitment team like him, their opinion won't have changed overnight. I'm honestly not sure they are targeting a specific position, I think if someone on their list becomes available, they will make the move happen.

Got 6 days between this and Palace. You have to assume that Howe will go full strength, which means the same side as against Leicester. I can see any arguments for changing it, unless Howe sees something tactically. An early goal on this would be nice. Always get nervous at 0-0 at half time. How spoilt am I?
-
All the talk of striking while the iron is hot regarding our push for top 4.... well surely the same could be said for the LC final (should we make it?) Would be rather nice to have some non cup tied reinforcements in place for a potential trip to Wembley.
-
So, at the moment. We might have Forest, Wolves and Man Utd in the draw?
-
I feel like he's a man footballer now, rather than a boy. He doesn't hide at all on the pitch.
-
I'm sure we did verbally offer something, but that's because you need to make non official offers to get the going rate for players. Once you have built a portfolio of potential signings, then you can make an informed decision on which ones to press ahead with. Right now it's all hot air until we hear something concrete.

Not NUFC but this guy has always been class on twitter. Started a YouTube channel, turns out he has cerebral palsy. If anyone deserves a leg up, it's this fella:
-
Pretending he's retiring when he's actually just putting himself back in the shop window. Im actually looking forward to him turning up at some poor place like Ipswich (he's done Norwich right?).
-
Was done at Sheffield Post match. So no new video

It's the term mega rich, which is the problem. We are theoretically rich but we don't necessarily have the cash on the hip to spend. Right now the club is trying to inject steroids into the commercial areas of the club, in order to have more coin to spend on players. It's hard, from the outside, to accurately perceive how far we have come in 12 months, money wise. When it all clicks in, we will be able to throw a bit of money on the situation but we don't know how far along in that process we are. One thing is for sure, we won't tell anyone we actually have money.
-
Think we are wounded animal. They have players missing. I'm hoping they have post traumatic stress from how we battered them down there. They are going to shit themselves. If we score early it could be a bloodbath.
-
Tielemans is the one I keep coming back to. It just makes too much sense all around. Realistically, Leicester have to let him go. Wont happen until late on though.
-
On so much that Southampton, Everton or Forest wouldn't take him? I could absolutely see Everton giving us 8m or so for him.
