  1. Fine man. Just get him on the bench and give him 10 mins then 20 etc. Leicester game in the cup is perfect for that.
  2. The trap you are falling into here is the presumption that Tielemans would end our want for more midfielders. This isn't MAs NUFC anymore. Reckon he would be Shelveys long term replacement. We would still very much in the market for someone further up the field. 15m would be incredibly smart business and virtually risk free.
  3. Here: Bruno Maddison Willock Or here: Maddison Joelinton Wilson Or here: Miggy Maddison Wilson Or here: Bruno Longstaff Maddison Maddison is a versatile attacking player, who could fit in anywhere. Quite useful when you are about to start playing 2 games a week.
  4. I thought Tielmans was one of Leicesters better players on boxing day. He's incredibly gifted on the ball. I also think when you worry about "workrate", you have to consider who we have as manager. I'd bet my left bollock that Howe gets 20% more out of him. He's basically a vastly better version of what Shelvey offers and there's a chance we get him for a severely reduced fee. Also, really handy when we are about to step into a fixture pile up.
  5. His pressing is excellent and even arguably better than Wilsons. It's a shame he's technically limited.
  6. We don't even need Wilson man. Its fucking mental right? We all mocked the Wood transfer but it's now looking a canny move. Mr reliable.
  7. Brighton high foot? Was another one IIRC.
  8. There a small pool of players that most of the bigger clubs are looking at, it's no suprise that we are going to miss a few targets: remember Ekitike and Eriksen? Keep our powder dry and do our work behind the scenes and we will find the players we want. We took time with Botman and got him. Other clubs snoozed on Isak so we moved for him. It will be no different this time. I'd be shocked if Ashworth and Co weren't already making enquiries about players we have already been linked with. Just when we think nothing is going to happen, we will get a deal done for someone. Don't expect anything until the end of the window though, so we still have some waiting to do.
  9. Forgot how the media etc go into overdrive around transfer windows. There's been about 3 players linked everyday so far.
  10. Jorginho for 2 years to provide cover and experience. He's a very good player and we play with a 3 man midfield, which means you need 6 in your squad IMO. 1 Bruno 2 Joelinton (could be classed as a wide option in a 25 man squad) 3 Longstaff 4 Willock This leaves us 2 short if we bin off Shelvey. There's a high probability that we sign a quality CM for big bucks (Maddison) but we might want another option in there. I know we have been linked with numerous young South American players but I wouldn't be surprised if they were seen as players we could potentially farm out on loan. I'm not entirely convinced we would be in for Jorginho but, I can understand the merit of another experienced CM.
  11. Does the yellow card thing get written off after new year or have I made that up? Either way, just start Schar against Leeds, get the 3 points in the bag and deal with any suspension that may come.
  12. So Liverpool get Gakpo and Arsenal are likely to get Mudryk. Those are some serious moves. Whether we like it or not, we must make moves ourselves to keep ourselves competitive.

    Sven Botman

There was a moment yesterday when he snuffed out a dangerous moment, then pinged a goal into Brunos feet. Me and my mate where like "wow". Our recruitment team are fucking class. Wouldn't sell him or Bruno but both must be worth 100m+ already.
  14. Went for 5 and nah. Basically I can't call it. We will be in with a shout but squeaky bum time will be crucial. My only main worry is that because of extra fixtures we might have problems with squad depth. An injury to Bruno or Trippier would kill us. January could be key.
  15. Feel sorry for Jonjo but it's a blessing because it will speed up our search for a CM.
  16. Again the targets we have will be young, mouldable, versatile and with mega potential. It's highly unlikely we go for anyone closing in on 30.
  17. I don't for a second think we are in for anyone currently on high wages... unless something can be done about the high wages (like offsetting lower wages with a hefty signing on fee) but even in that scenario, I couldn't see us doing it unless it was a Trippier type.
  18. Eddie Howe is a beautiful lying shite. Never believe a word when it comes to transfers and injuries. He's mentioned FFP prior to every window.
  19. Not looking forward to this. Although it will be a refreshing change to have a side actually attack us. Might actually allow us to break.
  20. We were easily the better side and just lacked a cutting edge, which has been an issue that crops up from time to time but thankfully once Botman and Schar got to grips with the Ogre up front, we were pretty cosy. A few players looked off it, Miggy, Trippier and Willock. On the other hand, Bruno, Joelinton and Wilson looked lively. Interesting that Joelinton out wide works in some games more than others. He was much better when moved centrally. ASM looked sharp too. I felt we didn't get the ball to him enough.
  21. Joelinton is infinitely more reliable as a left winger than ASM and over the course of a season I'd wager that Big Joe would contribute more goal involvements + better all around team play. ASM is great in theory but in reality, he's injury prone, work shy and inconsistent. It told me everything that Jacob Murphy outperformed ASM on Saturday. However last time I slagged off ASM, he played a blinder.
  22. Bloody shite game. That Miley kid is only 16? Jesus. Going to be some unit.
  23. If I was Howe I'd be annoyed with a few things. We should have created more clear cut chances. Some sloppy passing at times. Lascelles failing to put pressure on them from their long balls.
  24. Weird, because normally I'm super excited about the possibility of signing some good players. Now, because I know its a formality for us to sign good players (if we want them), I'm more relaxed than anything else. We've gone from having to beg good players to sign for us, to potentially players having to beg their clubs to let them leave for us. We can cherry pick who we want (with the exception of players currently on high wages). In the summer, someone like Diaby was a reach, now there is more a sense of, "are we sure he's worth it?" It's a lush position to be in. I still think we needn't rest on our laurels. We have some poor players in our squad and that's where the improvement should be made.
