  1. I've got Leeds on, just in the hope Everton get beat.
  2. Reet lads, which game we got on?

Griezman getting out of atletico and that farcical loan situation that he's in? I'm joking... kind of.

Modric has the same agent as Isak. Just saying.
  5. Genuinely one of my favourite players in the squad. Showed real character to get back into the plans for the future. Manquillo is an able right back, hopefully we see Krafthu back soon.
  6. Rule of thumb is that any list of clubs, means its almost certainly rubbish.
  7. As long as we come away with momentum. Not crucial we get something but it is crucial we go into Palace with the momentum that we have had. We can't be going feeling sorry for ourselves if we get a pasting. Let's give a good showing, like at City.
  8. @Heronwere you at the wolves game? If not you have a spitting double.
  9. I think Everton have at least bought good characters. I'd trust Tarkowski and Coady to keep the dressing room honest and while that's normal the sort of shit from a PFM, in Evertons instance they genuinely need some players who can resonate with the fanbase. They have effectively set the reset button on their squad. I still think that they have sufficient quality to survive but they need a striker desperately. I'm actually surprised they haven't come in for Chris Wood. Edit: Forgot they had signed Maupay. Think that's a good move, even though he's not prolific.
  10. There was nothing stopping Parker resigning after promotion and saying he wanted to try a "new project" or whatever. Kicking off 4 games into a season, knowing what he had signed up for is the issue.
  11. The difference is context. Bournemouth are a club that are building to become a PL club, Newcastle were already a PL and had massive resources before MA arrived. It's the same when people talk about Man Uniteds owners and say "look but they have spent 200m". Lost is the context about where they are and where they have come from. Don't get me wrong, you do have to question why the likes of Bournemouth or Norwich think that you can come up from the championship and not have a slightly more ambitious plan yet still expect to survive. Brighton and Brentford are the benchmark for the smaller clubs coming up.
  12. Wonder if the 6m we are getting for Dubravka allows us some wriggle room also. Would certainly cover most of a loan move.
  13. Aye he had this little grin, it was suspicious. Reckon he's a sly auld dog wor Eddie.
  14. From the outside Parker has come across as a right selfish cunt. He's basically decided that Bournemouths failure, can't be his failure. He can't be seen as a manager that got relegated again and thrown his players under the bus. While he is right that this squad isn't good enough, he should have resigned in the summer when he knew he wasn't getting loads of dosh. It's interesting that he gets loads of support within the media and I must say I was duped into thinking he might be a good coach but then I remembered what he was like at Newcastle, the second it got tough he jumped ship. Perhaps this will be a master stroke from Parker, because his next job might actually be a PL job, he'd probably get an Everton job or whatever but you know the saying a cunt never changes his spots... or something like that. Bournemouth should look at what Leeds did. Find someone with energy from elsewhere, who could potentially bring them back up next season, should they go down.
  15. Still feel like we will snare one loan before the deadline. It would be on deadline day though, when things start moving quickly.
  16. Wonder if @Toonjam88might get wind about whether Isak gets his WP through. ?
  17. I think Howe is lying. Reckon he's pulling the wool over Liverpools eyes.
  18. Thought Howe got the tone about this perfect in his presser.
  19. Given injuries: Pope Trippier Schar Botman Burn Longstaff Joelinton Willock Miggy Fraser Isak Looks most likely but wouldn't be surprised to see 5 at the back and Targett come in.
  20. He is/was a Belgian international DM, with 30 odd caps. Have you seen some of the players he was competing with in that position? I'd bet my left bollock that he's more technically sound than Longstaff, Willock and even Joelinton. For 10m as someone who gives us another string to our bow, he'd be a no brainer.
  21. It's not indicative of anything really, Man City signed Scott Carson a couple of years ago. Big clubs often sign older keepers from smaller clubs who are willing to sit on the bench.
  22. Would it be fair to say we are taking a small gamble? Ultimately, Pope will likely play 30+ games for us in the PL this season and even in the scenario where he gets injured, we only have until mid November when the world cup starts, then we have January to help us out. Is it great, no. Is it a big deal, probably not. On the positive, we've effectively spent 4m on a superb keeper, which is also a younger upgrade.
  23. I think we are still slowly trying to move older players on, especially ones who are not in the starting 11. Yes we would have kept him but long term it will be the right decision.
  24. Palace game is more of a blow but I will just rest my hopes on Isak and hope I love him as much as Bruno. Fingers crossed we get another player in too.
