  1. I was happy to accept that these thing can take a while but fuck sake this is tedious.
  2. Doesnt bother me half as much as: a) the PL willingness to listen to arguments from 3rd parties, especially ones with ulterior motives and b) their seeming lack of a deadline to these things, leaving us in limbo.
  3. What you on about? It was clearly in.
  4. I see Grealish has really suffered from not being able to go to the barbers during lockdown.
  5. Wow. Huge respect to them for that. Had shivers watching them.
  6. Plenty of empty seats at Villa Park. Shite atmosphere too.
  7. I definitely feel that the Qataris have lost this. The tone in their statement is like a petulant child. We should find out in the coming hours, what bearing, if any at all, that this WTO report has had on their decision making. I just dont think the PL will have learned anything new from this. It's possible that the PL are waiting for football to restart, just to take the heat off themselves.
  8. How? Well, I dont think there will be a hurdle bigger than this.
  9. Said No all along (other than for a couple of days of false hope when NUFC.com chirped up) so I'm sticking with that. Not really arsed either way now anyway. Totally bored with it all. Think you are kidding yourself tbh. I am very arsed. Have devoted a huge amount of emotional energy once again following this saga, just like I did last year. And even though I feel certain of what is coming I am still dreading the heartbreak of experiencing it fall through. Just hope I can move on fairly swiftly and forget about football altogether. Nah I think I've commented on this thread about 4 times in total, probably about the same on Twitter and it's rarely even mentioned amongst my mates and family or at work. Just not that arsed either way now. It's probably more symptomatic with how I feel about NUFC and football in general these days really. You have commented on this thread 42 times Beautiful
  10. George Caulkin still seems to be calm and relaxed on the situation, for what it's worth.
  11. As it confidential can the premier league discuss the takeover with bein ? How do you not know Masters is trying to keep everyone happy to try and avoid legal action. Surely that is the best outcome for premier league. The PL can speak to Bein, provided that it's part of evidence gathering. They can speak to whoever they want but when they do, presumably said party will also have to sign confidentiality forms. This is a PL investigation, not a Staveley one or a Qatar/Bein one. They choose what is relevant and important with regards to the tests in which they have set. If they can find any reasonable evidence that breaks any of their tests, then they will block the takeover until whatever the issues is has been sorted. I suspect that the french courts have a much more stringent set of thresholds than that of the PL, making proving piracy to the PL easier.
  12. Not much Qatar can do. If they cant prove, to a reasonable degree, to the PL that SA were involved in piracy, then they have no chance within the courts. On the other hand, the Saudis could quite easily prove that if they are guilty of piracy, then so too are the other nations and by proxy, clubs.
  13. Some massively baseless speculation going on. The PL cant discuss TV rights with the Saudis whilst also taking about the takeover. That amounts to, at best, a conflict of interest and at worst, corruption. They cant say "we will pass this, if you bid for tv rights." They are looking to see if SA can be properly linked to piracy, which should worry everyone, since they almost certainly were involved. If Bein are being consulted, it's because they are providing evidence against the Saudi's, not because they are discussing future TV rights FFS. Like it or not, this takeover is on a knife edge and when Masters said the other week, "we will discuss that when we get to it," it shows now that this part of the process had not properly begun.
  14. This "leave poor george alone", carry on, is lifting. He knows the rules, you dont give people snippets and expect them not to ask more questions.
  15. I suspect Caulkin doesnt know as much as hes implied. We know he has a line to Staveley but I think hes been playing on that a touch. I like Caulkin, hes as sound as a journalist gets but hes still a journalist and his game is selling stories.
  16. Perhaps the PL dont have a preference. It's not a case of whether they want it to happen. That's just conspiracy theorist bullshit, intended to make an excuse for why the PL might block it. There wont be an agenda, other than to avoid a shit storm. The most likely scenario is that their legal team will look at all the evidence and make a recommendation to the executive based on that. It's taking so long because their legal team has most probably being trying to work out their position with regards to paying the TV companies who havent been able to show football and where they stand legally on sending footballers back to work. Theres no grand conspiracy, it's just tedious as fuck.
  17. Yeah I switched off about two weeks ago. Will have a spy every few hours but I'm not getting myself worried. What will be, will be.
  18. The fact it's gone quiet can only be a good thing IMO. We might get a nice little surprise in the next few days.
  19. One positive coming out of the PL restarting is that the newspapers have something else to talk about.
  20. It only takes one person, who thinks they are a knight in shining armour, that wants a bit of attention to quash this thing so they can make a name for themselves. As for the Saudis ploughing money into the PL... they cant on the one hand show they have a sound financial plan for Newcastle abiding fair play rules and also say "oh and we are going to hoy billions into the league!" The two things cant go hand in hand.
  21. Are you really saying you can knock a multi-million pound deal back, based on a reasonable opinion without evidence Well thats exactly what the rules say so yeah Think you need to do a bit more research on law: An opinion is a judgment based on facts, an honest attempt to draw a reasonable conclusion from factual evidence We are talking about the internal rules of a company explaining how they run their business. Their rules clearly give them enough room to decide what ever they want when it's in the grey area. I doubt there's a section in UK law about who gets to play in the Premierleague? Yes, I think there is a struggle in peoples minds between Law and Business. PL could conclude whatever they want but it would need to be watertight, otherwise they will get sued for damages etc, which would cost the PL a fortune. They may have some evidence that hasnt been divulged.
