    Sean Longstaff

He was a big part of a side that finished 4th and 7th in the PL respectively. I'd agree with you if you say that we need better but saying he's championship standard is pure bullshit. He'd be a solid player for any lower tier PL side.
  2. Personally I think Froggy attending a Newcastle game is a slap in the face to real fans who could have been their to shout and moan at our players. Anyone who facilitated that wants a slap in the face.

    Sandro Tonali

I know right? I don't why them idiots keep saying it.

    Sandro Tonali

Doesn't make any sense because in the last couple of match threads I've heard that he's been anonymous.

    England

It's quite simple really, the only question that needs answering is whether he's prepared to drop big names. You can't play Bellingham, Palmer and Foden in the same side. Drop 1 or 2 of them. It won't happen because the idiots in the media won't let it. And don't get me started on Kane. Play someone who is prepared to run.

    sunderland

I find it rather strange how confident they are of getting promotion. The season is in its infancy. I'd say they are likely for a play off spot but they've got some real big hitters behind them, with better squads. Also, it would absolutely be like Sunderland to completely bottle it.
  7. There's a small snag in that our squad is nowhere near a league winning side + we still don't have the resource to do it (yet). Pep hasn't managed in Italy yet.
  8. In the last 7 games of last season we scored 20 goals, won 4, drew 1, lost 2, and one of those losses was away at Old Trafford. I agree that we haven't reached the heights of that PSG game but also that's a very high standard to hold them to every week. Just look at someone like Arsenal or Man City, they don't win all their games at the standard we know they are capable. Arsenal let a two goal lead slip against Leicester before winning, for example and Man City had to come from behind the other day. Since that PSG win, we've also had some incredible results which would have been comparable to our very best under 12 years of MA: Chelsea 4-1 Spurs 4-0 sunderland 3-0 Arsenal 1-0 Man United in the cup 0-3? And a fair few other decent ones 4-1 at Brentford for example, 5-1 against Sheffield United at home. The point is, it's not all doom and gloom.

    Anthony Gordon

I hate to be that guy but we'd have given him similar levels of abuse. In fact when Andy Carroll returned to Newcastle he got absolutely hounded when he missed a sitter/dived. I don't blame them one bit for using the story to create an atmosphere. The social media post is classless mind but that's because they've nowt else to shout about. Shite side, shite manager and a inferiority complex. They are sad little scouse mackems.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Because every now and then you have Wimbledon away in the cup or you have an injury crisis where you need a an old war horse to see you through a game or two. We are no where near the position to just let go players who are starting for us right now and someone who has been one of our more consistent performers this season. We all agree that Burn doesn't start if everyone is fit. He's probably 4th choice but even if he's relegated to 6th choice, you keep him.
  11. Let's not bullshit. Man United got a good result at Villa, who were underwhelming on the day. Which is great because it keeps ETH in a job just a wee bit longer.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

We could, I dunno, have a SQUAD of players to choose from.
  13. I didn't say they were going to be a threat, more that they will win a couple of big games. More to do with Goodison. At some point this season they will beat a Spurs or whatever. Basically I'm saying we got through a historically tricky fixture unscathed and unlucky.
  14. Creating chances and scoring goals isn't an issue with Eddie Howe sides and never has been for us (barring the odd little spell). Having a solid defence and balanced midfield is more of a likely issue and if feels like we've turned a corner in that regard (since Tonalis inclusion and the Brazilians getting up to speed). Against City I never really felt like they would get a winner and Everton didn't get near our goal for most of the game. We drew away from home, kept a clean sheet and dominated the game. We are fine. Also, as absolutely shite as Everton are, they will get a couple of big scalps this season and I'm pleased we aren't one.
  15. I don't think that's "training" so much as muscle building. He might not even be sprinting yet. Great to see the big fella though.
  16. A reminder that this man achieved this 90 minutes of utter joy, which we hadn't seen in 20 years or more. He did it with Longstaff, Almiron and Burn in the side. He manages this club with class, intelligence and dignity. So when match days come around and you don't like the teamsheet or the way the match plays out, remember, he knows more than me or you and has earned the right to manage this club and make mistakes. When I look around the rest of the PL and see the other managers, there's nobody I'd trade him for (ok I'd have Pep but fuck you). He's absolutely fantastic and call me a Howe fan boy all you like, because that's exactly what I am.
  17. So pleased Coming Home Newcastle is back.
  18. Never easy breaking down 11 behind the ball. They will get tired. Keep going. Perhaps switch some positions. Move Willock as a number 10.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

You know what I wish? That someone had spotted Mbeumo 6/12 months ago. I don't think there was a fan in the world thought he was a good player back then... not a single person. Certainly not anyone with a name being with K. Feel like this board is missing someone who could feed us knowledge on any African based players, it's certainly missing someone who could hammer the point home every 5 minutes and let some of us know that we are fat and lazy. Alas, can't have everything.
  20. Isaac Hayden would struggle to get a game for Wimbledon. Honestly, why does this keep coming up? Do people remember Hayden? I don't like talking shit about players but Hayden was barely PL quality at his best, let alone now.
  21. Sorry mate. You just never know.
