    Joelinton

On the other hand, Ashworth leaving might have given us a tidy excuse to make a small concession on his demands. For me, Joelinton is crucial to next seasons success.

    Anthony Gordon

Yeah I was arguing with a Liverpool fan who said Grealish is better, and argued that Grealish hasn't played as much as Gordon.
  3. Personally I think any thoughts of usurping Villa and Spurs is fantasy stuff. Man United, fuck knows which way they go. Like it or not, they have a knack for pulling results out of their arse. For me, it's 7th. Europa Conference would be a perfect nursery for re-learning how to cope with two games a week. We'd batter most teams in that competition, we might even be favourites to win it. In order to get 7th, we need to see off Brighton and West Ham. We have both teams at home. Win both and 7th will be ours IMO, largely because I can't see either side pulling away from us any time soon. We've looked unlikely to string 6/7 games together this season but if we beat Chelsea away and don't get smashed off city in the Cup, I might revise my view and think 6th is possible.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

We've showed we can go on long winning streaks with Longstaff in the side. I agree, he's a player that can look really poor when out of form. If he has a year where he gets less game time, he might decide leave, which is also fine but Eddie won't actively push him out the door, especially not this summer.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Whether people want Longstaff to leave or not, he won't be going anywhere. If you think Longstaff will leave, you haven't been listening to Eddie Howe at all. He will surely end up as 5th/6th choice and that's OK with me.

Can someone find me a grealish/Gordon comparison?
  7. I'm sure someone much smarter than me will answer this but all of the talk is of a big summer. Besides which, its not done in 3 year blocks, its not allowed to have x amount of losses over 3 years, so each year the number is different to the previous. I still can't fully wrap my head around it but I'm certain we will have plenty to work with.
  8. Can you read? I said he's the best manager in the world. For someone called Pata, your conversation is shite
  9. What was the XG on that mother fuckers.
  10. I'm not a Man City fan and I think Pep is the best manager in the world. This season they haven't been where they should be.
  11. Firstly my point was about the season and secondly, XG can go fuck itself.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I'd say a new left back is critical. It's clear that Tino isn't going to be preferred over Burn and I think we all agree that Targett and Hall aren't seen as the answer. At any opportunity our club has to sign a quality left back, we should grasp it with both hands IMO. Going into next season with Burn at left back would be a huge error and I like the big fella.
  13. For all Pep is an amazing manager.... this season he's not done well. This side should have pissed this league and they've flapped.

    Fabian Schär

He was awful against Blackburn too.
  15. Alternatively, let's get a half decent deputy who has a good fitness record.
  16. Without our injuries, we'd be finishing 6th at least this year. We are only 4 points off Man United as it stands. We need a good summer. 3 quality signings in the Isak/Bruno/Botman bracket, half the injuries of this year, and the Italian Stallion back and we will be fine for top 6 next year. Joelinton signing a contract needs to be job one on the agenda. Where would we finish in the league if we had the big fella available for the remaining games.
  17. There ain't much between us Spurs and Villa IMO. Villa have slightly more consistent depth and Spurs have some real experience in Son, coupled with Maddisons quality but we have our own qualities. Give us Alex Isak for 75% of our games and let's see how we do.
  18. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. 7th would be a great achievement. I'm reluctant to thinking we've turned a corner after what happened post Villa.
  19. We will see how good Spurs are with CL footy next year and a loaded schedule. Next year will be carnage.... the expectations of Arsenal, Man United, Villa and Spurs will be through the roof and Liverpool will have a new manager. Something will have to give. Of course, we will have our own expectations, we need to keep our heads down and allow others to cut each others throats.
  20. 30th of March is a cup final. Beat West Ham at home and you'd have to fancy us to nab 7th.

    Fabian Schär

Yeah I really like him. I'm sure we will look abroad.
  22. O'Neill is just sticking up for his team. I actually quite like him. He's wrong of course. He's been done tactically. Howe told his players not to press their defenders when they were around the half way line, knowing that they struggle to create chances and that we've been vulnerable when opening up. We could have had at least 2 more in the second half with Willock and Miggys guilt edge chances. When your side concedes 5 big chances in a game, you can't have any complaints. 3-1 might have been a fairer reflection. But who gives a fuck about fair?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Fuck me, I actually agree with Whitley Mag. We do need to be thinking about a future without Schar. When time catches up with him we will need someone to step in and that could happen very suddenly. Half a yard of pace at CB is a killer. You quickly can go from Dan Burn of last year to Dan Burn of this and its brutal. Schar still has a key role to play but we need to be prepared.

    Anthony Gordon

He could easily end up with 14 goals this year, which would be an outrageous return for the young man in his first full season and in a team which hasn't been in full swing.
