Those fans who've seen shearer play should really have him in their team. Unless you have seen some unbelievable strikers. I'm talking raul, ronaldo, henry etc. I'd actually put shevchenko in. I saw him pre-chelsea, although he was playing for the ukraine.

For the record, i've always liked your posts HTT. You always make important points. I just think you got it wrong on Pardew.

HTT, i'm not debating with you over the tactical side of things. Yes you were right about us being negative and needing to come out of our shells a bit but then everyone said that, me included. As well as the inclusion of Ben Arfa, which we were crying out loud for. My issue is a different one. You started doubting a manager who had already got us into an incredible position in the league and even claiming that you would prefer to have Martin Jol as our manager (out of interest, would you still make that swap?). At the time, as well as now, i find that critisism of him extremely harsh, since he was already on the verge of achieving something great. However, now he has surpassed everyone's wildest dreams. I don't mind the fact that you had reservations about Pardew, in fact, differing opinions make the world spin IMO. All i want is for you to admit that you were wrong about Pardew himself, not the tactics.

Pardew likes him though. He must show some good qualities in training. By the way, he lookede trimmer yesterday IMO. Which i think is part of his problem. I look forward to seeing more of him next year, should he get games in Europe.

i don't think guthrie could spot or execute that ball yesterday, or the type of ball for ba's first at norwich, the ball for cisse at swansea or the break at WBA for ben arfa. I think he could TBH, he's a clever lad. Although, i must say Cabaye seems to be getting better by the week and will most likley surpass anything Guthrie will achieve. I'm a big fan of Guthrie though, he will be a very good player for most sides in this league (should he leave).

On the Guthrie/Cabaye debate. I still think Guthrie technically and vision wise is on par with Cabaye but Guthrie's engine lets him down. I think fate will see Cabaye become a great footballer who plays on the European stage, where as Guthrie's football will be played at another club, where he will prosper IMO.

Can't wait to see who we might be playing... let the good times roll.
