  1. 100% i'd say. Yes but you are missing the point of the thread. I wasn't claiming that our home crowds are better than all of the away ones a SJP. I was saying that our home cround is ALOT better than liverpools on the evidence of the weekend. In short, when someone wins a challenge/throw in at SJP, they get a roar. None of that at Liverpool, just silence throughout.
  2. Sorry to dissapoint you but were not there to entertain you. At the moment we have a problem with about twenty thousand day tripping new age soccer am fans in the ground, and about twenty thousand lads that carnt be arsed going in anymore (for the reasons you say) drinking in pubs around the ground or in town. Thing is though, excuses are excuses. We have all the same problems and more (because we are shite). You may not be here to entertain us but if i hear a Liverpool fan claiming they have anything other than an average volume in their stadium, they are going to get a lug full.
  3. Bolton and Sunderland have the worst run ins. Our hope remains on our 3 home fixtures.

    Current Feelings?

I'm bricking it. I've put all of my hopes on us beating Sunderland and Fulham at home and right now we dont look like doing that. My thread of optimism comes from the fact that Oba will have proved he is worth a start under KK.

    Alan Smith

I'm positive Smith wont be picked for the next game. The only chance of that happening is if KK drops Owen to play Smith and Oba up front because their is no chance of SMith playing in midfield after Saturday.
  6. Thing is though. I was terrified going to anfield because i was worried that the Liverpool fans would be as good as they were made out to be and quash my theory about us being the greatest Over the last 4 years i've been to SJP about 40/50 times and on not one of those occasions have our home fans been as bad as liverpools were at the weekend. We AT LEAST have the level 7 boys doing us proud in every game. Liverpool had one chorus of "stevie gerrard" after they scored and that was it. Whats worse is that Newcastle is an easy club to sing against because we've won fuck all. They could n't even be arsed to do that. I'm not doubting that in europe they have some magical nights but those are the easiest games to get up for because you have all afternoon to get pissed after work. I won't think of Liverpool fans the same ever again.

    What worries me

Thing is though, my opinion hasn't changed since the liverpool game. We were always going to get a pasting there. Hopefully we will get something at Brum and then we MUST beat Fulham or we will go down for sure.
  8. For all of those who were at the match yesterday you will know exactly what i'm talking about, Liverpools fans were terrible. Literally the worst noise from home fans i've ever heard. Embarrasing. Shame our players were as bad their fans.

    The Champions League

I love watching Arsenal play, absolutely fantastic. Shame there aren't a couple more englishmen in their side.

  11. Man City two years ago. We got the left overs from the shearer testimonal scarves, Souness last game. Everyone in the crowd waving them scarves was absolutley amazing. Villa a month ago. Mike Ashley going through our turnstile, i got a chant started "there's only one mike ashley".
  12. the change in performances, and I agree they haven't been "drastic" but they HAVE been a canny bit better, have convinced me that KK will do the job again, providing he has the backing of the board and the time to do it. The spirit on saturday on the back of the last few weeks was excellent, as was the determination to try and force the game, apply pressure etc all Keegans methods. There is no doubt that we lack the quality to make these tactics really count, but it IS the way to play if you are aiming for success, and he's doing it already. This is the big question though. There is a case for playing to strengths, many teams recognise they don't have the ability to play an open game and so play a tighter game to get the points. We maybe could be doing this but it isn't Keegans way. The "tactical nous" people may jump on this and they do have a point in the current situation. Whatever happens I'm backing Keegan, because with support of his board, he'll leave us better off than where he found us and if the unthinkable happens I won't blame him, everything we have as a club now is down to him and he deserves the slack to get on with restoring the club back to where he left it the last time. Very sensible post. I too have see enough from KK to suggest the old magic can be reborn. Providing the two things you mention happen, A) We beat the drop and B) He gets the correct funds.
  13. Seems to me people want to whine about the situation for the sake of whining. Since Keegan arrived there's been a drastic improvement in tactics, performances and passion. People whining have no suggestions who we should have signed . The people we approached goes to show how loathe players are to come. If you blame Keegan and the fortnight he had with an open window when he arrived for our current position rather than Allardyce and the 8 months he took to build the most tepid team I've seen at St James', you're a moron. I agree.
  14. Yes, it's one of those places that i fancy us to get something but because Birmingham are in the shit as well, they will be up for it. I hope it will be an open game and our better players can produce. They will have the physical edge and will battle hard. But at the same time they must fear Martins and Owen, they'll have been watching us batter Blackburn so they know we can handle it and what we are capable of. We ARE the better team we just have to go their knowing it and pick the players who won't be scared to perform on the day. Hear hear to that.
  15. They dont even rate him enough to play him every week either.
  16. do we have any solutions? keegan is perhaps the most one dimensional manager there is...if plan a keeps failing we're relying on other teams being worse i also think we'll stay up as it happens, but i'm terrified what will take place if we do If we stay up? I'm just praying we will be in this league next year and i have no doubts we will be a very good side the year after. In all seriousness after watching the Blackburn game, we will score goals and we will win games.
  17. What kind of thing is that to say? How the f*** could anyone have known back then that we would still not have won a game and would be 3 points off the bottom? Cos we're s****? I knew as soon as we didn't sign anyone in Jan we were f*****! Should have paid the going rate for Barnes! Also should have tried for Defoe plus a defender. All the muppets that said we shouldn't panic buy! I hardly think those targets were panic buys, just Mort f***** around for to long we ended up with nothing. If we do go down this season, how f****** stupid will we look for not trying to strengthen? Spend 10m in Jan or go down? I know which would cost us more. Can you give me Saturday's Lotto numbers please, smartarse. You 'knew' eh? Yeah, right. As the person who started this thread I think it is only right that I interrupt this argument and point out that in my opinion it wasn't "rocket science" to see that we were heading for freefall even back in January. You only had to look at the performances against the poorer sides to know we would struggle against the better sides when we played them. After that it was simple, we lose to top and middle table sides, struggle to pick up anything at home and away against the bottom sides and it doesn't take a genius to work out that we would be near the bottom of the table come May. I call it detached realism, I don't allow my love for the club to colour my football judgement, unlike some, who seem to think by going into denial it won't happen. So people were not allowed the opinion that we might improve under KK? (which we have in some ways) Really it does just sound like "I'm the best" attitude.
  18. it's a fucken discussion board mate, wouldn't be much kop if all anyone posted was "howay the lads" would it? "WERE GOING TO GET RELEGATED!!!!!11111111" "Told you this would happen" "were s***, our board is s*** and our fans are s*** blah blah" That's not discussion, that's ranting and points scoring by some of our fans. The same bunch who believe negativity is the road to superfanism. i.e the more negative you are about everything to do with NUFC, the more a fan and knowledgeable football supporter in general they must be. BTW, this aint directed towards you mate, it just grinds my gears thats all. conversely that's what boils my blood about the "howay the lads" brigade, you can't discuss our problems 'cause it means you're not a real supporter (not directed at you i might add too) suppose me opening this up is utterly pointless in hindsight but i've been away since january and was reminded of the shite being spouted back then about our current predicament being impossible (even by spurs fans for christs sake!) relegation battles follow the same pattern EVERY year, for anyone think that derby/fulham/reading/brum etc...would not improve significantly on their points totals in january must be drinking something i wouldn't mind getting my hands on right now...our fixtures told their own story the whole thing reminds me of us blowing the 12 point lead under keegan...only at the other end of the table obviously, fixtures were weighted against us that season too but noone chose to see it til it was all over In that case i can understand your anger but i think you will appriciate the fact that noone is under any illusions anymore. We are in a relegation fight and i'd realy like our fans to talk about solutions not past problems. I personally still dont think we will get relegated but we shouldn't have even been talking about it.
  19. I've just see the fixtures for next week and all the teams in the dog fight are up against teams that you would expect to beat them.
  20. Yes, it's one of those places that i fancy us to get something but because Birmingham are in the shit as well, they will be up for it. I hope it will be an open game and our better players can produce.
  21. Seing as i believe Derby and Fulham are almost certain to go down, who will be the third team to get relegated? Obviously we are in the mix but there are alot of other teams in contention. I'm going to take a stab and say Reading.
  22. Probably the best comment so far. Completely agree.

  24. Re. Liverpool I always find the problem we have is that regardless of whether we are playing well, clubs like Liverpool, Everton and Spurs always try and raise their game because they believe that we are a "big club", therefore a good team (which we are not). When this happens these teams come out all guns blazing and normally beat us comfortabley. Where as if they were playing the likes of Bolton etc, they wouldn't be up for it as much. It's a right pain in the arse. Relagation is still a possibility not a probability. I'll see where we are at after Liverpool and Birmingham before making my prediction.
