  1. Was surprised you couldn't sell out a last 8 game in the world's number one club competition. Haha nice one lad. What's nice about it "lad?" Would've thought a MAASSIVE club like you could shift 41,000 tickets for Liverpool's most important game in nearly two years.
  2. People walking around in 110 degree heat. That game was obviously a classic, but there used to be a song on Fantasy Football League that went "Old football was crap, Old football was crap, Old football was crap, Old football was crap, Old football was crap etc...." I've watched the 1966 World Cup Final in full, players made mistakes in that game that would be unacceptable in the Conference now. That memorable goal by Carlos Alberto wouldn't have even been conceded by a back four of Carr Bramble Ramage and Huntingdon now. That may or may not be so, but it's one of my favourite goals of all time. Love watching it. I think it is probably the most perfect piece of football ever, it really does make the hair on the back of my neck stand up every time I see it. Especially when you watch the whole build up. If anyone wants to know why football is the beautiful game, point them at that goal. Carlos Alberto talks through it here: (apols to mods and please delete if youtube link not allowed) I think Argentina's goal against Serbia by Cambiasso was far far better, the best example I've seen of a goal being scored by a patient build up and movement off the ball.

They're better than you lot. Stop crying. showed more fight than we did tbf Correct. You didn't have Newcastle fans blaming the ref for the result though. In general, we accepted that Alkmaar had been the better team over the two legs. Stop being a complete clown. If you watched both our games you would see that the refs were a complete joke and that ultimately cost us at the end, no matter how good Sevilla played in the first half. Any NEUTRAL would agree. You were beaten by an infinitely superior team, even if he'd have not given the pen over there you'd be out on away goals. Pipe down and deal with your mediocrity. First decent side you play and you're out.

They're better than you lot. Stop crying. showed more fight than we did tbf They hung in there no more, their fate was always settled though, like that Irish bloke who gets his head put in a vice and his eye pops out in Casino, that's a good analogy I think.

  8. What a game that was. There was a goal hit the post hit the keepers back and went in, forget the details anyway, but France had the best team in that tournament, France v Brazil was worthy of the final, and it was a shame kraut effieciency over came French craft in the Semi.

Dude, Bayern are out. yeah dude
  10. Best spectacle: I'd go for Charlton 4 Sunderland 4, it was relentless, enthralling, fantastic, and wonderful. The whole game I was sure Sunderland would win even when they went 1-0 down. Sunderland came back and went 2-1 up and I thought that was it, then they equalised again, only for the mackems to quickly go in front with a Quinn header. 3-2 to the inbreds going in to the last minute all over surely now, but no somecunt else equalised, I can't remember who. 3-3 Extra Time. The mackems went ahead again in extra time, but in a storyline JR Hartley couldn't have written Mendonca a born and bred raised on Queerside, mackem accent, mackem c*** made it 4-4 completing his hattrick, it was great . All that was good enough, but for the captain of Sunderland, raised in deepest Pennywell, to step and miss the penalty that made them all suffer for a year, absolutely astonishing, one of the best non toon experiences ever. Aside from that, people might laugh here, but England 3 Argentina 2 18 month ago was one of the best games I've ever seen. Best achievement: Juventus 2 Man Utd 3 It's difficult to argue that Juventus weren't the best team in the world over a 4 or 5 year period, they really should've won the Champions League in 1997 and 1998 to go with their 1996 triumph in Rome. Given the fact no club in Europe had ever been to Turin and won in the history of Juventus, going 2-0 in 10 mnutes, backs against the wall, to come back and win 3-2, but not only that, play them off the park, was a marker for our football I think.

First decent side they've played and they get turned over. Predictable to be fair. The beauty about this situation is they truly believed they were going to Glasgow I will say it again, as I have a million times when sides like Spurs and Leverkusen get to the last 8 it only goes to show what a pathetic competition it was. Even Souness' Toon made it that far, and should've really gone further. The competition is a complete joke, I hope we don't get in Europe next season.
  13. Where did I use the words "EUROPEAN Campaign"? My heart will sink if the world's luckiest sporting entity fluke it again.
  14. Well I'll say straight away in normal circumstances I would like to see Man Utd win it, over their campaign I think they've probably been the best team in Europe. However lucky Chelsea are gaining momentum at just the right time, their second half in Valencia has forced me to stick money on them doing the quadruple at astonishing odds of 20/1, so I hope Chelsea win it. I couldn't bare it if those horrible bastards won it, I'll admit it now. AC Milan winning it would be unjust as well.
  15. I'm surprised your favourite club was a side set up by a bunch of Mackem labourers who got their strips from Sunderland themselves. The people are nowt like mackems though. They're the geordies of Spain. Basques, and especially Basques from Bilbao are unlike any other Spanish people, I'm pleased ETA have piped down though. They were treat like shit when Franco was running the show, he even changed Bilbao's name to Atletico Bilbao, but they changed it back to Athletic Club when he fucked off. My first and only love in football is Newcastle United, but there's a corner of my heart which likes to see Athletic do well, but unlike us they're perennial under achievers. They're increasing to 60,000 too.
  16. With anything like a decent manager - 1st
  17. What's to be fascinated about them? They are the worst example of a club of glory hunters in the world. 1860 were always the best supported club in Munich. A few titles, followed by European success made Bayern the club of the glory hunter in Germany, in an even bigger way than Man Utd and Liverpool are in this country. Bayern away games often have 20,000 away fans, and of them maybe 2,000 are from Bavaria. Manufactured tossers with shit fans, massive, massive game tonight and the atmosphere was no better than ours against Birmingham in the FA Cup.
  18. I think them sum total of that would be English clubs banned for another five years though. Any Greek and Bulgarian people within 2 miles of a rock and a Liverpool fan would be shitting it.
  19. The question didn't mention links to clubs. The question was your favourite foreign clubs in various countries. I'm indifferent to 90% of clubs. I have no link to Athletic Bilbao, but I was touched by the warmth of the basque people when I was wi the toon in 1994, best foreign people I've ever met, and to this day I wish the club well.
  20. SPAIN: Athletic Bilbao ITALY: CUNTS FRANCE: . GERMANY: . PORTUGAL: . HOLLAND: .
  21. Yeah so s*** the team that came FIFTH in the s*** league were also Champions of Europe the same season, and a team that came FOURTEETH made it to a UEFA Cup Final. Mug. Wasn't aware Liverpool were the "5th best team over the last decade" The league between 5th and 14th is so s*** that one team has finished 5th, 14th and 7th in sucessive seasons, anyone can beat anyone past the top four. Hopeless tbh Anyone can beat the top four.
  22. Would a jumbo jet landing in the Kop at Anfield be bigger worldwide than the Twin Towers?

  24. I felt safe in the 80's never mind now. The only concern to me at football now is some muslim "pilot" missing the airport and flying in to the Leazes
