Will you disown your friend if he describes people who treat him badly using the c word, because your human development dictated that the c word is forbidden? I'm more concerned with whether he's okay at the moment actually, Stevie, than with a pathetic internet argument. I'm disgusted I have to feel inhibited in 2007, because a THIRTY THREE year old woman finds certain words offensive. I hope the cunts ok too.

Which foreign team do you seriously have a lack of respect or just think they're cunts, because of fans, players, manager etc... I'm no fan of Rangers, with their bigotry and vile, but at least they're trying to clean up their act. The club I dislike the most outside of England is Juventus. It gets right on my tits when people say what a massive global club they are. This is a club who as recently as 2005 had a gate of 700 for a senior game. Juventus were the first Chelsea, they had more money than anyone else long, long, long before rich investors came to English clubs, in fact long before football was even televised. That is the reason they have 29 "scudetto's". The fact is they're not even the best supported club in their city, "si ma noi could fill uno stadio nel Bari, Sicilia, Napoli, Reggiana, Verona, Livorno, con tutti Juve tsifosi." and that's supposed to be fuckin impressive? It doesn't impress me, just shows how many glory hunters who won't support their local clubs, there are in Italy. They claim to have 10m fans in Italy, 10m glory hunters, they're a cuntish club, who have been built for many years on the Fiat car money, I'm not jealous, I'd rather have our local fans than, few fans around here and millions everywhere else. How often do you hear "it would be a dream to play for Juve." The club themselves know their support is shit, or why would they be building a new stadium for only 40,000? AC Milan are a much better club to me. Another club I don't like is Real Madrid, because of their arrogance, although I respect them more than Juve. Spanish football is arrogant though. Hugo Viana has already bought into it, "when you are at a club like Manchester United, and Barca and Real come calling, you don't stay in England." Incredible.

You're right. It's astonishing to think when we gave Wimbledon £4m for him, he was at that point the costliest defender who had ever lived. His first game against Coventry, we as a team were absolutely fantastic, but he, every time he got the ball lost it by playing percentage balls to no one in particular, I thought what a waste at the time. Over his stint at the club he won me over though, through his hard work, and he did improve a little. If some of the more talented players we have now, applied themselves 50% as much as Barton did, we'd not be f****** about in 11th. Proof if ever it was needed that Oliver reads Newcastle-Online. Get ye own stats ye prick. He's interviewed Barton loads of times and never mentioned that before.

Just got back from Everton now mate. Back page ran 3 coaches.

For someone who admitted he didn't have much skill he didn't half make the most of it. Newcastle basically played three up front with Waddle, Beardsley and Keegan. In our promotion season at 34 I may add, Keegan 28 league goals, Beardsley 20, Waddle 18. Aye Keegan didn't have much greatness about him and influence of younger players, he only won European Player of The Year the twice, clearly never deserved the accolades that came his way. Batty. I liked Batty but that first full season under Dalglish he did my head in. He was a much better player than anyone gave him credit for, he wasn't just a midfield stopper, his passing was faultless a lot of the time, but that 97/98 season, every pass he played was back or square. A lot of idiots unfairly blamed him and Tino for us losing the title, they also forget he was our best player in the last 2 months.

You were sticking up for him in the thread about it on toontastic, mate. http://www.toontastic.net/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=12503&view=findpost&p=299042 I didn't say he was right though. You know what if yous all met NE5 I bet he'd be a potential best man at your weddings. "I have known Jon since, well long before 1992, you know Sky Sports/Keegan bandwagon jumpers werent around, the board were s***, we sold our best players, England internationals I may add. Is that really a sign of an ambitious club? Er sorry where was I? Oh yeah Jon, how many of you guys in here are jealous of him? I reckon his lass is probably on average the 5th best looking bird in the place and I reckon there are about 100 men in here so 95 of you must wish you were standing where Jon is right now...." Who wrote that and who about? pmsl -

I would rather that happened with rules staying the same than some of Blatter's plans being implemented, like bigger goals to please the yanks, and leagues running from February to November.

LeazesMag NE5 is a canny bloke who I feel gets hounded on here, and he is very knowledgable, but this is the first time I've seen this post and I found it quite funny -
I'll go for 2016, after two seasons of ONLY coming second.

Just what are you on about you smoggie fool? I'd rather have a Teesside born and bred flange like yourself than that two faced Walker dickhead. As for a ready made manager, I'm disappointed we didn't go for Hitzfeld when he didn't have a job, he's revived Bayern since he came in, but hey fatty knows best. Realistically though if we had the money to buy out his contract I wouldn't mind Luis Fernandez. Betis were heading down before he came, but he's done a magnificent job, he organises his sides so well, he has proven he can grind out results throughout his career, as well as playing expansive flowing football, and has a proven track record of doing great things with little money. His first stint at PSG he built one of the greatest sides not to win the Champions League, you think that's over the top, you could argue it is, but they beat the best in Parc des Princes, with the likes of Rai, Valdo, Ginola, Weah and Paul Le Guen. Aside from that he is the only manager to get Atheltic Bilbao in the Champions League, some achievement that considering he could only sign Basque players. He himself is Basque, I think his passionate character by nature could do wonders here, he has the CV, not many people mention him but I'd love him here.

1 Peter Beardsley 2 Alan Shearer 3 Paul Gascoigne Three geordies, and the three best players we've ever had (in my life time anyway).

Harsh. He's been poorly. The diseased, overrated, mediocre little s*** for brains.......ah, thats better. Unbelievable, tbh. Honestly don't understand some of the slating Dyer gets on here. Really? Oh well. Maybe, when you stop believing he is an international-standard, creative player who actually contributes anything tangible, you'll come to your senses. Good luck with that. Can I just point out, the word "an" can only be used when the following word is a vowel. As in: "an international"? Or was this just a general aside to things? Northern Monkey is the first to point out mistakes people make, there's a glaring one in his sig. I expected more from the upper crust of Whitley Bay society. Regarding Barton, in my old season ticket seat, the bloke I sat to, he was a fireman. His hatred of WB knew no bounds, never have I heard anybody slag a player off as badly as this Jonathan slagged WB. Many people held the same views at the time, he freely admits the stick he took even now. I remember when he equalised against the dippers at Anfield making it 3-3, everyone thought he was shit at the time, and as if coming back from 3-0 down at Liverpool wasn't special enough Barton got the equaliser. I think his finest moment was that last minute winner against Spurs though, he kissed the badge as they do, but there was genuine feeling there, and I do believe he loved the club.

So predictable, at least you could've pretended to have an opinion by thinking about players in your 1999 Panini sticker album.

I think everyone disliked Stimson There were lots of reasons, the key one being he looked like he wanted to be in Bros, and also he was pish. I remember we were playing Oldham who I believe were top of the league at the time, and no one ever beat them on their plastic pitch, but we, who were having a shit season, were 0-1 up in stoppage time, and I remember Charlie Harrison's words on Metro "Stimson goes to clear..........OH NO...OH DEAR it's 1-1." Under little or no pressure he'd put the ball right in the top corner > What about that time against Wolves, Steve Bull was clean through, "Stimmo", sythed him down, red card, and spontaneously the whole ground cheered the referees decision. You know what though these players who everyone hated, they've only got good things to say about us these days, Stimson being a great example.

Guivarc'h, or Gurridge, as my dad who deliberately used to get the players names mixed up to piss me off, used to call him, only started two games for us. Surely not enough to bring such dislike.

If I look back on my feelings towards players we've had, there's always one player who sticks out from every squad we've had who I've never taken to. I'm vocal at the match, but I never boo, and despite this post, I hardly ever dish out personal abuse to players in the ground. The first player I'll mention Scott Sellars, was almost universally loved. He had good technique, decent crosser, scored a great winner against Sunderland, yet for some reason I never took to him. I don't know why, I'll be honest, maybe it's because I like pacey wingers, and he didn't often skin 2 and 3 players like Ginola or Waddle. I appreciate he had good technique, but I was one of the very few people that wasn't sad to see him go. He never really let us down, and he was never that bad even in the Premiership, just sometimes I think I wanted more from him. Perhaps it was a slightly irrational dislike in some respects. The next player who without doubt I will never forget, is Kevin Dillon. Firstly he was s***, secondly he was a mackem, thirdly he was the slowest footballer I've ever seen, fourthly he was clean through against Sunderland by about 20 yards, yet he was so slow Gary Bennett caught up to him by the 18 yard box, and fifthly he was the worst captain in the clubs history. He was so bad when I was at school you would use "Dillon" as a derogatory term..."he's a Dillon that kid". I wanted to put Ginola in the list because of his words when he left, but he was too brilliant to hate. I didn't hate Andy O'Brien, but as soon as he arrived from Bradford I felt like I was the only one who could see just how s*** he was. Even now it baffles me how he managed to stay four years. See with Bramble he's come to the end of the line now, but he could go on a run of 10 games where he was fantastic. He was on such a run when he got injured against Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Cup QF. It was 1-1, 20 minutes left (2-1 up on agg), yet I knew for a fact, when I seen O'Brien trotting on our dream was over, and so it proved. There have been many individual performances down the years, which have bordered on the punishable by firing squad, Nicky Butt against Man Utd for one, but I've never seen any single player (including Fumaca), play a worse game than O'Brien against Villa when we lost 0-3 at home. He was obscenely s*** in my view, and for all the good Robson did the toon, some of the players he stayed loyal to, beggared belief, and when Souness dished out a three year contract for him, I nearly cried. He's another one who got a goal against Sunderland, and by all accounts he's a really good lad, but really good lad doesn't always equal really good footballer.

he can afford to look at Europe - its one of football's biggest myths that he spends no money. £10 mill on Hleb, £7 mill on Rosicky, £7 mill on Adebayor, £12 mill on Walcott - all the last 2 seasons suggests he does and can afford to buy from Europe. I take that point, but over a 10 year period, his transfer dealings show he's actually made money or come very close to it, when idiots like ourselves, and yourselves have a transfer deficit of approaching £200m as an educated guess. That to me in modern football is unparalelled. Think of nobodies he's made stars: Anelka Toure Eboue Petit - converted from defender to one of the best midfielders in the world (and yes he was) Fabregas ....the list is endless........... He's also got an extremely good knack of selling players at the right time. Exactly Petit and Overmars careers nosedived when they left compared to how they played 97-99, yet they received £30m for them. Selling the pair was as brave as Fergie selling, Ince, Hughes and Kanchelskis in the same season.
