Silly time for him to get a ban. He could have really imposed himself on the midfield in the next few weeks with all the players away on the ANC and the tits getting suspended. Too bad he wanted to join captain fantastic on the sidelines.

So based on one game Zoggy's now the answer to our center midfield problems? No thanks. The boy's 20/21, he shouldn't have to take control of our whole attacking game, stick him out on the left where he doesn't have as many defensive duties and we should get a new attacking AM so we have more options in attack.
-
Would be a decent ploy that. At least we'll have him for a must-win game against Bolton and then he can be banned for two we'll-probably-lose-even-with-Mourinho-in-charge-games against Arsenal.

I wonder how they make up these random numbers? Like Keegan would have told the media, within 4 hours of signing a contract, that he's been promised a £60m kitty. What a load of shit.
-
A creative center midfielder and a right-winger would be quality. I really think we're only that much off of challenging for a top 6 place. Actually, not even a creative midfielder but just a midfielder who can receive a pass and then pass it to his teammate without trouble. That would be a change from the shit we've all witnessed in the past 6 months.

Scholes would be quality but there's no way Fergie lets go of his best center midfielder

Media trying to stir bad blood with Owen/Keegan already?

So its unfair that Emre got sent off for a CLEAR red card offence? I think what he's asking for is a bit of consistency from the ref. Anyway, I'm wondering what our center midfield will look like come Saturday. So obviously Duff and Milner stay wide but who's going to partner Zoggy in the middle? I actually can't think of anyone now, might have to push Roz up or something.

We might be challenging for the title again in a couple of years, or it'll all end in tears in a year. But, you know what, the potential for something magical is there and I'm hoping, believing and dreaming about that magic. Howay the lads!

If we (and Ashley) back him, we'll be alright I'm not 'overjoyed' at this appointment, but it is wayyyyyyyyyy better than Souness/Roeder/BS. It might be living in the past, it might all be dreaming and hoping, or it might be an unmitigated disaster, but I'm excited. This is what football and Newcastle Utd are all about!

He's always spent money well. Better than most managers out there imo so expect him to spend it well and expect us to be good once again We were all worried about Allardyce and how he's not experienced with money etc., well, here's a man who knows exactly what he's doing with money.
-
The one thing that he's definitely got going for him is he knows how to spend money. Spent it at Fulham, spent it at Citeh and he spent it very well when he was with us. And if he's given the cash to spend money this time around, I'm pretty sure we'll be alright.

Why hasn't the forum crashed yet?
-
Before this forum crashes, I have to say I'm very excited. And nervous. But definitely excited, definitely giddy.

The bookies aren't 'stumped' man. They're making a shitload of money now because there's been so many 'favourites' that people have put money on. They're just luring people to bet on other managers who haven't been 'favourites' now, so watch out.

I haven't read them, enlighten me. " We are currently not a Champions League team, and in six seasons out of the last ten, we have finished in the bottom half of the Premier Lague. That means we are not necessarily going to interest a manger already at a team playing Champions League football. " Deschamps isn't even in work at the moment so not likely to refer to him... Well it was in the same article Actually, it's from his regular column for the programme for tonight's game. And this was written before Deschamps was linked to us.

From .com, it seems that Fatih Terim is 'endorsed' by SBR.

Getting an unfancied French side to the CL final and losing to arguably the best manager in the world good enough? Great achievement but is all the hype really coming because of that? He jumped ship when Monaco were 15th after being there 16 months and took an excellent Juventus squad with plenty of top players out of Serie B, he left them after falling out over transfers or something. Like I've said, I'm not knocking the bloke because I don't know that much about him, I'm guessing some on here who are jumping on the bandwagon don't know that much about him either, I'm approaching his appointment with an open mind but I'd like someone to tell me what is so good about him. Isn't he just like Klinsmann/Shearer/Van Basten? I don't see any difference between any in those group. They're all relatively inexperienced but had great footballing careers and is widely respected around the world. On a tangential note, I think each of them are different and it's up to Mort to identify which one of them will fit in with the club best. Frank Rijkaard relegated the first club team he managed, then got sacked. But somehow, for his second job, he was appointed manager of Barcelona. Laporta and co saw something in Rijkaard and knew he'd be good and he's proven them right. I hope Mort/Ashley can be as astute and ambitious.

It's been such a rollercoaster ride. How typical of Newcastle Utd
-
No 'official' approach. Bet there's been an unofficial one though
-
me too Everytime we get linked with an exciting manager, I get sucked in.
-
He's also agile, is actually pacey and has good control with the ball. I don't see what's wrong with him individually, more of a case of the whole defence not communicating and thus losing all those silly goals on Saturday. Nothing a good manager can't sort out. In fact, I'd say we'd actually have a good defence if a manager sorts them out. All of them are good enough individually (Beye, Taylor, Faye and Enrique) imo.
-
So they wouldn't have failed the first test after all then?
-
It is exciting, but I'm nervous as well.
