Normally I wouldn't have any qualms about trusting Keegan with spending money, he's always been one of the best there. But, since he hasn't actually kept up with the game in 3 years, I wonder whether these signings will really be 'his'. I also wonder whether he'll initially just go for the players that he knows (i.e. ex-players like SWP and them lot) instead of scouring Europe and trying to find the next Albert/Ginola.

A creative center midfielder and a right-winger would be quality. I really think we're only that much off of challenging for a top 6 place. Actually, not even a creative midfielder but just a midfielder who can receive a pass and then pass it to his teammate without trouble. If we (and Ashley) back him, we'll be alright I'm not 'overjoyed' at this appointment, but it is wayyyyyyyyyy better than Souness/Roeder/BS. He's always spent money well. Better than most managers out there imo so expect him to spend it well and expect us to be good once again We were all worried about Allardyce and how he's not experienced with money etc., well, here's a man who knows exactly what he's doing with money.

The one thing that he's definitely got going for him is he knows how to spend money. Spent it at Fulham, spent it at Citeh and he spent it very well when he was with us. And if he's given the cash to spend money this time around, I'm pretty sure we'll be alright.
