Fantasy Premier League 2014/15 - Svein best coach in da league
Taylor Swift replied to LRD's topic in Football
52 points to start, disappointed in my midfielders. Hoping for a better week this time because I'm already 20 behind the leader in my private league. Any cunt that had Fabregas last week did so well. Hazard, useless fuck. -
If we sell Tiote, I'm certain we'd get a replacement.
-
I love the deal. He's awesome and he'll love playing in that team.

52 to start. That's not bad considering my midfield flopped. -
He's better than Tiote so he'll start for us, and rightly so.

Official: Yoan Gouffran signs new contract with Goztepe
Taylor Swift replied to Tooj's topic in Football
No chance of that. It'll be Gouffran who drops out. De Jong goes in the middle, Sissoko on the right and Cabella on the left. -
Yes, I did. I think Colback is capable of that. He saw some passing lanes yesterday that were better than the average midfield clogger does. I don't expect him to burst into a counter attack like Henderson does but he's got talent on the ball.
-
It makes me nauseous thinking about it. Reddit slowed it down and it turns out it didn't happen.
-
For everyone talking about the lack of shots on target, did we not create two of the three biggest chances of the game? Silva scored the easiest chance, Perez and Sissoko missed ours. Krul didn't have much to do besides that apart from a couple of long rangers. It was a tight game and their quality shone through. The difference isn't as wide or glaring as expected, which is positive stuff for us.
-
He's not as athletic as Henderson but he's better on the ball. Our team will be better with him sitting in the middle with Anita, starting counter attacks. We'll come up against slower midfields and defences and we'll do all right.
-
He should have scored. He had a decent game. If he breaks like that every time we get the ball, we'll score a lot of counter attacking goals. I liked what I saw. It wasn't his fault that Kompany was unbelievable and had Riviere on lockdown. Other CBs will give time and space to our attackers.

Where was this opinion when the combined XI threads were knocking about? I posted my opinion of him way before he signed. This is not a knee-jerk reaction to his debut. Go check the beginning pages of the thread.

He's not cover for Tiote. He's better than Tiote.
-
You actually just made me make an audible "ergh" sound so fair play. We've had this conversation before, haven't we? You thought (think?) he was shit, I don't. I think he's a decent player who's better than Tiote. You don't. Today he proved that he's quite capable. Let's see how he does from here but I'd put good money on him being better than Tiote.
-
I just appreciate the fact that we have two central midfielders who can control and pass the ball. It's also a bonus that his guaranteed inclusion pushes Tiote to the bench.
-
Great on the break, if he gets some willing runners then we'll score a lot more goals against teams on the break away from home.
-
Tiote is rubbish against 80% of the teams in the league, man. Colback will be useful against all of those teams just simply because he can control a ball and he makes positive passes. We don't have room for passengers on the pitch and Tiote is a passenger against most teams unless we're defending for our lives.
-
Hopefully people give him a chance. He's better than Tiote, I don't have any doubt about that.
-
I don't see how Tiote is better than him, dude. Colback is just so much better on the ball. He's more aware, he's composed, he looks up and passes into space. I don't see Tiote doing any of those things. The days of the hardmen in the middle of the pitch is over. Colback intercepted more balls today than I ever remember Tiote doing in a match. That's the modern defensive midfielder, not someone who launches into a tackle when the ball is received by the attacker.

I like our team. We'll be good on the counter attack against teams less powerful than City ie. every other team in the league. The way we play isn't a good match for them, unfortunately. I thought we did all right, lots of bright spots but some glaring weaknesses. We'll be comfortably top 10, maybe challenge the top 7 if De Jong comes in and looks good and Ferreyra can contribute.
