  1. We won't pay money for him if waiting six months will get him for free.
  2. It's something like this, isn't it? Krul Debs Taylor Colo Santon Anita Cabaye Ben Arfa Marveaux Obertan Cisse Is there another way we can put our best players on the pitch in a viable formation? Maybe Tiote in for Cabaye, Cabaye pushed up in front instead of Marveaux and Marveaux replacing Obertan on the left?

He doesn't believe in the club or the players. That's the problem. We deserve better. As shit as we've been over the past ten years, I've always believed that we're a club that is capable of big things and that we should be afraid of no one and nothing. I want a manager who has that same belief. He doesn't. He doesn't belong here.
  4. Getting him would solve two problems, cover at LB and RB. If Santon gets injured, he plays LB. If Debuchy gets injured, this kid plays LB and Santon switches over. If the transfer window hasn't been so shitty, this would feel like a very smart signing.

Yeah, the new guy has a great track record in this area. He's been screwed over by Hughes alone. He spent last Jan and they survived, right after he joined. He spent in the summer and that was when he got fucked. He won't make the same mistake again. Ironically, if they survive, they'll probably implement a model similar to us and Spurs, except they'll be much more aggressive than us. And if they're able to build a new stadium then they won't be going anywhere for a long, long time.

For those saying Fernandes is an idiot, bear in mind that the guy's been in charge for a year and he's learning very quick. He knows it's not sustainable to pay Park 50k/pw but it's more important to stay in the league than worry about change like a few hundred thousand, or a million or two. One of the first things the guy did when he came was talk about increasing revenue and expanding their stadium. He knows what has to be done, now he just has to do it. Harry is a good manager and if they're able to sign a couple of players, they'll survive. Then they'll start clearing out the deadwood in the summer and that's when they can control their wages and spend more responsibly. But firstly they have to survive. Fernandes is a smart businessman. PS. You don't judge a smart businessman by whether he makes mistakes but by how fast he learns and whether he makes the same mistakes. The guy is learning quick. He dumped Hughes quick, got in a good manager and he's not repeating the same mistakes by signing old players for big money. Remy and M'Vila are players in their primes with many years to go, not hasbeens like Park and Bosingwa. Fernandes got fucked by Hughes but that's going to be the last time he's getting screwed by a simpleton manager who has no financial sense.

QPR aren't idiots. Idiots are those who haven't seen the tv money from next year onwards. There is massive inflation in the market. We will make a healthy profit next year because the tv money will be huge. That is what is at stake. The shittest players will be on 30k/pw in no time because the moolah is flowing into the league. It would be folly for QPR not to try their hardest to stay in the league then regroup in the summer. Let's say his release clause is 5m. They're basically risking 3.3m plus his wages for the next five months. And the possible returns? Well, premiership money compared to championship money, which by next year will be close to 60m. An idiot would be someone unwilling to risk a few million. If we're confident we can stay up when our team is fully fit then that's one thing, if we're not confident then not signing Remy would be the most classic example of being penny wise, pound foolish. The money from next year onwards is too important to try to save a million here or there.

They want to build a new stadium and they will get a lot of corporate sponsors from Asia. Fernandes is a smart guy. He's not a guy who lucked or was born into money. He has business sense. He's investing now and hopes that it'll pay off later. The sustainability of the club will depend on their revenue but he already has a plan for increasing their revenue. That's much more than Portsmouth ever had. Whether he's successful is another matter but they're certainly not a Portsmouth who had owners who spent beyond their capabilities.

Yup. The reason Lille's captain came to us is because we offered to double or triple his wages. He didn't come here for the sexy football that Pardew gets his teams to play. Some players aren't fully motivated by money. Some are motivated by glory and fame, so they want to win things and they want to be remembered. These players stay motivated even when they earn huge amounts, players like Messi and Ronaldo. But most, given the choice of two equal teams, will choose the one that offers more money. QPR and us aren't far apart enough. He's not rejecting Arsenal for them. He's rejecting us for them.

You can't persuade me that his choice is based on the chances of success, as well as money. QPR are bottom of the league, and a few days ago, Remy was refusing to speak to them. On the point of us signing him, QPR basically threw money at him in a rather desperate gesture. A few days ago, Redknapp was moaning about having to deal with players who were on sky-high wages who weren't motivated to deliver for the club. Now he's signed a player who didn't want to come, and who has only been persuaded by mega-dosh. It didn't work out for us with Owen, and I don't think it'll work for them. If QPR are willing to do this for everyone, they will be successful. It's really a no lose situation for him. He plays well, QPR survives, he stays and watches them rocket up the table with new players and a good manager. He doesn't play well, QPR survives, he collects money and gets to play in the Premiership. He plays well, QPR gets relegated, clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool will be all over a Premiership-proven player. This is his best case scenario. He gets a move to a big club and still gets paid. He doesn't play well, QPR gets relegated. This is his worst case scenario and it still entails him getting 70k/pw. There's no chance he's coming to us for 40k/pw. No chance.

The funny thing is, if Pardew leaves, our best player most likely leaves too. Ok, it's not really funny. It's fucked up.

Why are people complaining about him choosing money over coming to us? Who's more likely to have success? The club willing to pay top money or the club that isn't? Is he suppose to come to us and think to himself that we're more likely to be successful when we always always lower wages? Come on. Get real. Clubs that offer the most money get the best players. If QPR offer the most money to the best players, players will come and play for them, and they will be more successful than us. If their owner is willing to subsidise them then it's fair enough. Let's not kid ourselves and say he chose money over us. He chose money and the potential of success over us, a choice that given to any other footballer would be the same. You tellin me Ben Arfa will stay with us long term if Chelsea offer him 100k/pw? QPR are, at the moment, far away from Chelsea, but if they keep on offering top dollar to talented players then they'll end up being closer to Chelsea than we are. I'm disappointed in him choosing them over us but it's really reflective of the way the game is structured at the moment. On the one hand, clubs that try to operate with a sensible financial model like us are screwed. But on the other hand, if QPR couldn't do this, they'd already be consigned to relegation, which also isn't fair. If they can and want to pay, let them pay. If FFP comes in hard, it will lock away the top league positions forever because clubs like us and them will never be able to generate enough revenue to compete with Arsenal and Man Utd. And how are most clubs supposed to build big enough stadiums to bring in more revenue when all they're doing is competing for 8th? It's a vicious circle. If we weren't being fucked over, I would say well done to QPR because they're doing what they have to do to survive.

  14. I think he's genuinely happy here. As long as we show improvement, he'll be here. It's great hearing a player care so much that they talk about 'saving' us.

How quick is he? Can someone give a comparison?
  17. So a defender can just rugby tackle a striker 6 yards from goal to deny a striker a shot at goal and stay on the pitch? And give away a penalty every time? Yes. Then you just open it up for defenders to deliberately bring someone down knowing they'll get booked, and take the chance that the striker will miss. I hate this. Why? The striker gets a chance at a 1v1, which is what he would have gotten if he wasn't fouled. The defender is booked and the game goes on. The punishment fits the crime because you're giving the striker the 1v1 he would have gotten. It's fair.

We would go into every game with a chance to win. The downside is that whenever one of them gets injured, we're left with Obertan or Sammy or Shola. Our first eleven is only a CB away from being able to compete with any team in the league, but our squad is still so poor.
  21. I seem to recall that working for Swansea against us at their place last season... Oh wait... Death by football. All right, van Persie?
  22. I still like Dyer a lot and have great memories of him playing for us. He made mistakes when he was young but that video when he was interviewed after SBR's passing made me really feel for him. He wasted his peak. I'm sure some of his injuries were due to not conditioning himself as well as he could, and I'm sure he regrets not listening to SBR now. He was an excellent player for us, one of the best CMs we've had in the past 20 years and one of the few players that could dominate a match. He was electric on the ball, as fast as any other player on the pitch yet had the technical ability to go with it, too. His potential was massive. Like I said, he wasted it and I'm sure he regrets it today, but we had some good times with him and I'll always remember them. He would have been great in any team of ours because he was devastating in the counter. Him and Bellamy at home to Leeds
