Last time we played them it was at Hetton le hole but when we play at SoS then we have normally been in the away end, there were about 500 there NUFC fans there last time at SoS, best games like i mentioned earlier were when Peter Reid was in charge of them and the crowds were big and atmosphere was a belter. Yeah you can park ok, shouldn't be much trouble getting parked up.

Looked like a shoulder injury when i saw it on SSN. regarding the contract talks etc but if he's a big Newcastle fan like he says he is what is there to talk about, if i was him (and i'm guessing most of you) and in his shoes, you've grown up with the dream of playing for Newcastle (and England), you make it and establish yourself in the team, living the dream so to speak and are financially secure before your 25 on wages of 25-30k a week. I wouldn't be needing an agent or even to have talks, i'd just say give me another 5 years.

Loads of reserve games are midweek afternoon kick offs which for the regular reserve watchers is a bit of a shitter! The fixtures are on .com. We are playing Chelsea at SJP though which is a new one, the league is weird this year, we are in a league of 5 who we play home and away but only play the likes of Sunderland once(away) and Chelsea(home). I don't think teams will be playing reserve teams in a couple of years the way its going.

Sunderland away first game up at SOS, they used to be an absolute howl a few years ago but last couple have been played away from SoS. For 2 seasons when Peter Reid was there manager the crowds were over 20k, with a full away end, atmosphere and piss taking was tremendous!

Did Hughton not drop Smith in the past, or am I making that up? yes he did and it helped the team,(he was carrying an injury though) especially in home games at the back end of last season but for the first game of the Premier league away at Man U, where we will go defensively anyway i just can't see Hughton not playing Alan Smith. It could be different when we play Villa in our second game with that being at home.

i will be amazed if Smith is not in the team against Man U for the first game. in fact as long as he's fit i can see him being one of the first names Hughton puts on the team sheet.

i would love it for him to have come back a changed player and start banging the goals the in but i'm not holding my breathe, i think he'll be sent packing to the first team that shows an interest.

Barton needs a good run of playing every game for about 15 games to get properly match fit, he's barely played any football in the last few seasons due to injuries and off field dramas, its no good him coming in and playing 3 games then missing 4 and then coming back for another 5 then miss the next 3 again, doing that he'll never get to the level he was at when he was running the game for Man City in the season before we signed him. In a way its the same with Shola, due to his injuries he's never gets the run of games back to back(more than 12) to get fully sharp and match fit

not sure if its cos i'm an idiot but Ronaldo description is a pretty good summing up of the pair. Fwiw i would go with a fully fit Barton over Guthrie.

Got to back up Chris on this one, Xisco "performances" when he turned out for the reserves were nothing short of disgraceful, yes he may have knocked in a few goals, couple of pens and tap ins but his general play, application and desire were basically shite.
