They've been on all night!!! some of the comments are laughable man
-
happy with that team, expecting Carroll to be replaced by Nile for the last 20-25 mins.
-
but then again the season before he switched between right back and striker as well, normally from game to game!!
-
Could this be a potential big problem for bringing in loan players, we are short of number for our squad but our starting 11 is good, so for example we need some cover at centre half but would a young centre half like say Cathcart for example get in the team ahead of taylor and Colo, i would say no and the same with say we brought in a left back, they wouldn't play instead of Jose. Then if you switched it and were Alex Ferguson you wouldn't send your young defender (Cathcart) here as you'd know he wouldn't get many games and as a result defeating the object of sending him out on loan to gain experience! just a thought!

Chronicle reckon Carroll will still be missing for Blackpool, touch and go but will probably be kept back for Plymouth match on Saturday.
-
Not really, Peterbrough were a fine example of what will happen if Nicky Butt gets a game. Peterbrough? what have they got to do with anything, we haven't played them yet.
-
ffs the Nicky Butt bashing on here is getting to be a tiresome joke, we've seen the standard of this league, Nicky Butt will cruise his way through games against the likes of Blackpool and Plymouth. Christ you'd think he was a reincarnation of Fumaca the way he gets slated on here.
-
Carroll returned to training last week, i think they've just given him a few extras day training so he'll be ok for Wednesday, if he's not back he'll definately be back for next weekend against Plymouth
-
Yes but then again Donaldson also seems to be ahead of young Inman in the pecking order and i rate him as a better player than Donaldson.
-
Think we may rest and rotate a couple of players in midweek, think Carroll will be fit and will come in for Ranger, Nile will then come of the bench to replace Carrol after an hour or so, Butt will come into the team for Smith. Maybe give LuaLua a run out as well in place of Barton.

Looks a good promising defender, quick, good tackler and can get forward. I'd certainly look to get the loan extended till the end of the season and if he is out of contract look to make it a permanent deal from January, he'll be able to talk to clubs from Jan so we need to make him a deal ready for the end of the season, due to his age though we won't get him for free but can't see him costing too much, be suprised if a tribunal puts the price at more than £1m.

Some baffling comments on here, can't believe people are saying we were awful/crap. I'd say we've just went to one of the so called best teams in the league, who are always strong at home and done a top top professional job on the them with an excellent defensive display. We started really well, took the lead and then sat back with 2 banks of 4 and said come on then break us down if your good enough and they've barely threatened Harpers goal. It wasn't even like it was backs to the wall last ditch defending they rarely got into a shooting oportunity in the box. Off the top of my head i can think of Rae's shot over just after we scored, Burke's shot which Harper saved comfortably and the penalty shout when Taylor blocked Chopras shot. Yes it would've been great to go there and blow them away with a scintilating football display but we went there to win a game of football and did it well. Smith was tremendous sitting in front of the 2 centre halfs, Jose totally snuffed out of the creative threat of Burke, don't think Burke got past him all game, Joe Ledley is meant to be the best midfielder in the CCC but our midfielders never gave him a kick and young Ranger had another decent game up front on his own. Yes we weren't that good going forward but we were leading the game and didn't need to bomb forward going for a 2nd. If this is the kind of reaction from people on here after a 1-0 away win against one of the best teams in the league then god help us when we do get beat. Some people on here want to give there heads a shake and look at the big picture.

he's a typical "number 10". he can't head the ball, couldn't really tackle a dinner, not too bothered about tracking back, only uses his right foot to stand on!, is quick, strong and has a wand of a left peg and is absolute quality. Not sure the Chronicle should be doing articles like today though as its just increases the hype and pressure on the lad for when he does break into the team!
-
he's shocking, never seen him play average never mind good, we'd have been better off keeping Godsmark!
-
He came back for the last 4 or 5 games of last season after getting injured around this time last year. He obviously looked a bit rusty in them games but was poor in the pre season games and wasn't too clever tonight.
-
Just got back, game was very poor, probably the worst i've seen us play in over a year, granted half the line up of the usual reserve line up was missing. Lua Lua showed flashes of brilliance with some excellent dribbles but went missing for periods when he should really be running then game from the first minute. Team got better in the 2nd half and weren't really troubled. Soderberg was decent made a couple of good saves early on. Tavernier was excellent but should've scored, he bombs forward but for some reason falls to bits when he gets in the box! put a good ball through for Bahengs goal. Baheng played ok as the lone striker but was often isolated and missed a sitter of a header from a peach of a cross from Lua. The bad news was Danquah and Adjei were garbage and Tozer was very poor. It is alarming how bad Tozer is playing, i know he suffered a bad knee injury but he's gone backwards at an alarming rate and seems to have lost a yard of pace. As two blokes (regulars who go home & away watching the reserves) said behind me, at this rate he isn't going to have a place in this team nevermind getting into the first team!!
-
t Agreed, I think Jose is a huge threat getting forward, he is certainly better at crossing the ball than Jonas. to be fair though Heather Mills could cross a ball better than Jonas!
-
if anyone is interested its on again tonight, 6pm til 8pm, there's a link on .com for it.
-
i thought it was pretty common knowledge that Chelsea, Man U and Real Madrid had all been sniffing round Vukcic, when he came on against Leicester i told my mates next to me to make the most of watching the lad cos he won't be here for long!
-
Have to agree. and then when he had the chance to make an impression by performing in the reserves he went out and produced some of the most woefull, inept lacadazical performances i have ever seen by anyone puttting on a Newcastle United shirt, no desire or self respect in his performance letting him get bullied off 17-18 yr old defenders, one of the worst players i've ever had the misfortune to watch. And this, is why he never got a serious look in to the first team. exactly but people stilll come on here say he should be given a chance!:-D

is she the one that looks to have too many teeth for her mouth?? Seen her at youth and reserve games, she's not exactly a looker!!
-
i heard that he'd had a heart attack in the summer, think he's just easing himself back, he was at the Villa game, sat on the golf buggy.

Tav was alreet, was impressed with Conner Newton who I think should get a few more starts on the right to see if he can grow in confidence. Newton was a out of position a few times, and had a lot of work to do (Sammy Adjei rarely tracked back), but I thought he coped well. Looks a little more composed then Dummet at leftback, who at times looks a little gangly - but if he can fill out his frame should do well. Very much doubt that Greg McDermott and Sammy Adjei will be asked to sign professional/extended contracts with the club. McDermott hardly touches the ball and rarely contributes to the game, and Adjei is pretty much the same. Aye, I'll probably be at the reserves game on Tuesday, it still £3? Reserves will be £3 or £1.50 concessions although its free with a season ticket
-
yes cracking result, a coincidence that Tavernier was back in the team!? How did Tav play Chris? Noticed that the reserves play there first league game this coming Tuesday, 7pm ko at SJP.
