A Carroll scenario on the cards by the look of it. Pardew is doing some serious pitching atm.

Me too. Would be surprised if we get anyone else now.

http://www.thejournal.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/pressure-growing-joe-kinnear-seal-5716373 JFK believes? He still doesn't know? The Journal understands that Kinnear believes he was given a transfer fund of around £20m to spend by Mike Ashley – and the club want a striker and wide man to add to the acquisition of Loic Remy and complete their squad. But he has been unable to make progress in a number of deals proposed over the summer – and their struggles have prompted United’s director of football to receive calls from a number of agents pitching potential forward options. Newcastle’s modus operandi is not to sign players without a dossier of scouting work behind them and the likelihood is they will stick to a first-choice list that was compiled before Kinnear’s arrival. United are understood to be monitoring the situation of Florian Thauvin, who is rumoured to be available despite signing for Lille in January. Newcastle made two bids for the France under-20 striker at the turn of the year before he signed for Bastia. The move for Bafetimbi Gomis has been torpedoed by the complications of agents’ demands, while Darren Bent has been asked to take a pay cut and a two-year contract to complete his move to Newcastle. The England striker continues to wait for alternative options, with Crystal Palace linked over the last 48 hours. Another name explored by Kinnear – Braga striker Eder – has hit a roadblock because the player will be missing until the start of October with a serious ligament problem. There is no truth at all in talk of a move for Genk striker Jelle Vossen, the prolific Belgium international.

Get French Football @GFN_France 1m Jean Michel Aulas: 'There is very little chance that you will see Bafetimbi Gomis at Marseille this season.' #OL #OM #NUFC

In theory! It can be frustrating waiting for the dulcet tones of Mick Lowes!

Manchester City vs. Newcastle United - 19/08/13 @ 8pm (Sky Sports 1)
sempuki replied to Elliottman's topic in Football
I can't see anyone predicting we'll get anything and rightly so. At least it will be out of the way with several supposedly winnable games to come. However I recall saying the same thing last season..... -
I have had it for years. Not great in my opinion - especially as the commentary often gets cut off.

http://www.madeinfoot.com/infos/article-p-league-newcastle-pisterait-hajrovic--22-ans--63232.html Never heard of him!
-
Was expecting Brighton or Man U away. Can see it being chosen for TV.
-
Unsurprisingly "cooling" our interest according to SSN.
-
Have we ever played them before? Might be the first time.
-
FWIW Ryder says we are not interested.
-
Much prefer Ince but at least it appears we have woken up in the transfer market.
-
Pictured arriving on Lee Ryder's twitter feed (can't copy on my tablet).
-
There is only so much brinkmanship they can do with a player who wants to leave and who is in the last year of his contract. Seems Ashley has met his match.
-
Now apparently negotiating with OM for a 3 year deal if you believe Aulas' latest comments on Twitter. Might get Bent after all - Lee Ryder just said he is Pardew's preferred choice on Talksport.
-
I wonder if the medical involves him getting over a line of some sort.
-
A strange one - Richards permanently and Sinclair on loan as part of it.
-
That Yea or Nay comment could mean anything. Anyway, JFK is probably talking shit!
-
JFK obviously can't be trusted. Interesting he did not mention Gomis when that seems the most likely of the three.
-
If only it was in a more credible paper. The Mirror have been consistently wrong all summer.
-
If we get these two it will make me buy a season ticket. I live near London but it will be worth the travelling if we get some exciting players and look to have a real go next season.
