I thought Hughes would be a popular choice as he was a good player who could hopefully attract some decent players, he plays 4-4-2 with attacking full backs and gets lots of crosses into the box, his team keep the ball on the deck and usually plays through a playmaker in the centre (Tugay).

What do you not trust Alan Oliver's views, ha ha. I've always thought Martin Jol got things right (e.g. Duff to Newcastle, Carrick to Man U before they were in the papers)

There is that, but ultimately, everyone in the football world is linked. Diarra was no doubt being courted by a number of clubs including Spuds, I believe. You can join these dots many ways, but only the clinically insane would join them to form Redknapp's ugly mug. I reckon the Diarra deal was instigated by Mourinho who's been lurking in the shadows for a few weeks now. Correct. And we've just been told that Diarra's move to SJP is now on hold. Don't know if that is the club or Diarra putting it on the back burner at the moment, but perhaps not surprising news. There is that, but ultimately, everyone in the football world is linked. Ha ha sounds good to me. Just read the article talking about it on TeamTalk and it says Diaby is also looking for more football, it take him aswell, I'd be more than happy with most the Arsenal reserve team.

The Chronicle, should have put Mr Oliver source?
-
Signing today according to Oliver, another youngster in!
-
People who are saying we dont need him, can you name a midfield for the Man U game one Saturday?
-
So £2m being touted for both Ben Haim and Wes Brown, I'd take both for £4m to £5m!
-
I was speaking to a Hartlepool player who said that Kadar looked cracking in that friendly and we should defo sign him up.
-
Sir Alex Ferguson hasent spoken to them for years and I dont think it bothers Man U fans.

I know the match isn't on TV or Internet tonight but I remember Shearer's used to show away games, does this still happen and does anyone have a clue if they have it? -
What about Lucas Neil for Right Back if West Ham go down, would be cheap (apart from wages) and has been playing really well for them since he signed.

http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1263728,00.html Senior Chelsea FC officials are reported to be on board a private helicopter that has disappeared off radar screens. It left John Lennon Airport in Liverpool last night and was heading to a private landing site near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, when it vanished. A police spokeswoman said: "Details are sketchy at the moment. "The helicopter, we believe, had about four or five people on board and was a twin-engine Squirrel. "It left John Lennon Airport in Liverpool at about 11pm last night and was on its way to a private address near Peterborough. "It appears to have disappeared off the radar. At the moment we are trying to find out more. "The best case scenario is that it has made an emergency landing somewhere."

Newcastle have handed a trial to Olympiakos' Turkish left-back Erol Bulut. Bulut, 32, will be a free agent upon the expiry of his Olympiakos contract in June and is hoping to impress Glenn Roeder sufficiently to earn a permanent contract. Bulut travelled to the North East of England on Tuesday and is expected to remain with The Magpies until 10th April. The player underwent a preliminary medical on Wednesday morning and will officially commence his trial period on Thursday. And, after falling out of favour with his Greek employers, Bulut admitted he jumped at the opportunity. "I wanted to stay with Olympiakos but I had no chance to play football there," Bulut is quoted as saying in Greek daily FOS. "I didn't get the chance to show what I could do. I hope to prove my worth and stay at Newcastle, who are one of the biggest clubs in the Premiership." http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=458833&CPID=8&clid=4&lid=2&title=Magpies+hand+trial+to+Turk&channel=football_home&

He has a hamstring problem
-
I'd go for: SWP £10m D.Bent £8m Baines or Bale £4m Distin £3m Total: £25m If you could flog Emre for £9m and Luque for £3m I'd then go and buy: C.Davis £6m J.Barton £6m Only SWP wouldn't be able to play in Europe so that would help our chances.
-
Are you for real? Yep it was straight after the match had finished
-
Well I was in the toilets in the level 6 boxes last night and Michael Owen missed the bin with his hand towel and said "God I'm nearlly as bad as Luque"!
