  1. Wolves were deffo after him after we went down and Mick McMackem said we wouldn't let him go.
  2. I appreciate all that and his passing last year was excellent at times. For some reason he is a serial underachiever at the top level. It looks psychological as he has good physical attributes.
  3. Sure the commentators on Sunday said the card count gets reset to 0 after last weekend. The deadline will be moved back a week in a special dispensation by the FA for JB
  4. how do you envisage that working then, in football terms? he'd be another sheva imo totally the wrong type of team for that type of player Did you trade in your shift key for all that incisive football knowledge?
  5. The point stands though that we have the nucleus of something decent (even better whe Carroll was here) and ought to be looking to build aand consolidate rather than flog more of the family silver.
  6. How can you say that we would have the wages available from Carroll and Kuqi leaving the club when the latter was brought in ostensibly to cover for the loss of the former?
  7. Precisely. Barton has an incredible season. good to very good, not incredible. By his standards, since he's been with us, it's been an incredible season for him. He's been arguably our best, and most consistent player. i'd put tiote and colo in that mix aswell. should we say leon best (using the same criteria of by his standards) has been incredible since new year ? I think we would have been relegation certainties without Nolan, Barton and Tiote. and colo. And Enrique. TBH those 5 have been a massive boost to our team. I think we would definitely have gone down without any football players.

No s*** Sherlock? Thought it was friday! Just wanted to know if it was supposed to come out this week. No one answered as no one knows. In jovial way I was trying to tell you to stop being a cock and be patient. The antipathy of your response has now made me say it more explicitly.
  10. I think the above post is one of the best in football chat for quite some time. THIS imo, as Dave put it so well, is the crux of the issue. We had/have these players on contracts at the club. We should only sell when we can no longer afford to pay them, or if they are no longer good enough (assuming of course, the ambition, which the club says is there, is actually there). It does hurt massively to see Carroll in a Liverpool shirt, nevermind him scoring 2 belters last night. I was watching the game with about 10 of my mates (all Liverpool supporters), and before the game started all they could talk about was how they hoped Man Utd would thrash Chelsea and knock them out, as they didn't want Torres to enjoy his time at his new club. So much vitriol. By the end of the game all they could talk about was the genius signing of Carroll and what a great player he is etc... Jammy Twats the lot of them, and they feel the same confusion regarding Torres as we do with regards to Carroll. At least they have a new hero, and we have an ambiguity that will feel like an eternity until the summer comes and we see where we really stand in terms of who actually got the better deal. You need new mates

It's Tuesday at present. Bet you're a pain in the arse on Christmas Eve
  12. Looking forward to seeing him play
  13. The Christmas party at Colo's?
  14. verb [with object] move (goods) illegally into or out of a country: 'he's been smuggling cigarettes from Gibraltar into Spain' (as noun smuggling) 'cocaine smuggling has increased alarmingly' [with object and adverbial of direction] convey (someone or something) somewhere secretly and illicitly: 'he smuggled out a message' I know what smuggle means you muppet, have never seen it used in that context before. I think he's probably aware of this and was effecting a joke
  15. Played well I thought. Willlicini is our best combination by some margin
  16. We've only won about a third of our home games. Draw? That'd be the sommat I was referring to
  17. Oh no's, you didn't..... All facts. Obviously I'm aware of the degree of fate tempting involved.
  18. They've only won about a third of their away games. The odds are we'll get sommat from this.
  19. Spot on. He didn't have the time and space that he needed to link the play effectively. He also lacked the physicality to do the pressing that we needed. Not his position at all, at least not in this league.
  20. Lack of urgency all over the pitch was the disappointing thing for me.
