Martinez tackled by Odd Job's hat apparently
-
Literally never happens anymore and it only happened rarely in the past. Players know if they fall and roll, maybe chuck in a yelp, more often than not they get the decision. Just find it so shameless when you see them peek at the ref, yep he bought it, jump to feet like nothing happened, fucking pathetic like
-
Hate how the fall over, tuck and roll is so accepted these days...player receives slight contact, rolls over, goes full on foetus, checks the ref gave it, jumps to his feet.
-
I yelled at the tv to dummy that pass, can't believe he actually did, great goal!
-
Some goal like. Maybe the defender should have focused on the ball instead of wrestling the fuck out of him
-
Hernandez is the one who knacked his knee at the WC?
-
Thanks Tarkowski you jug-eared, thick head clogger cunt
-
Valverde definitely channeling Crazy 8 from Breaking Bad, never really noticed it before
-
That's how it started but they're both at it now, Grealish doesn't like having his shithousing thunder stolen
-
Carvajal Boy do we have a lot to learn about shithousing
-
Watching this on Telemundo, love the Spanish commentator pronunciation of some players like "Jennn Stonnnes and Kiiieeele Wocka"
-
One of those goals that leave you open mouthed for a few seconds, like you're seeing something totally alien
-
Another, probably unintended, symptom of VAR. Was pointed out in the match thread, Arsenal undoubtedly benefitted from the stoppage incurred by it, we totally lost composure and momentum and it goes back to the overall point of fine margins at this level. Something that the coaching staff might well discuss this summer is managing new situations brought on by our progress, like being in a high pressure top of the table game and facing delays and disruptions and trying to improve our mentality and handle frustrations.

Was thinking the same, he sort of jumps into him but gets clobbered at the same time, more than he bargained for. Rudiger is a twat all the same like.

Holy shit, that link up play down the left by Madrid was filthy

I was absolutely on the floor on Sunday night, just wayyyy too invested in the final outcome of this game to see straight. I waited 24 hours and watched it again, stripped of the emotion of watching it in the moment, and feel a lot better. Fine margins, they were slightly better, had a little luck at key times and definitely more ruthless in both boxes but the difference to us from a year ago is stark and it's only getting better. Then I watched Brighton yesterday and felt even better. Even the brightest, most tactically astute minds occasionally get it wrong, or have not quite the right game-plan or their team just flat-out gets outfought or outplayed. 11 humans against 11 humans and if you're not quite at it 100%, or it doesn't quite run for you on the day, it can go wrong. Onwards and upwards, we very closely matched a team that has been, for 3 quarters of the season anyway, the best in the league.

Can't see this finishing 3-2 like
-
Forest might end up winning this game but dear me, their final 3 opponents are gonna fill their boots
-
I feel like so many pens these days are "won" by forwards cleverly using their opponents rather than "clear foul" types of situations.
-
Also people are reactive and can be hyper-critical in the moment, such is the sport we love
-
More stomachs than goals apparently

Forest

Exactly. I don't get the mindset of getting so defensive over such an unremarkable player who gets the headlines with some spectacular dead balls each season but contributes very little else.

Well tbf, I didn't say JWP was awful...just saw him geeing his team up after the second goal and thought "get lost man, you've done nowt as per usual". I don't think he's awful at all, just slow, small and a bit limited. Brilliant set piece guy, no doubt and might show better in a better more technical midfield.

Howay man
