Oh snap, Rich is drunk. Who’s going to be the adult in the room now? -
Same could be said for Joelinton and Almiron until recently. Jonjo has done really well for Howe until he got injured, so I 100% expect him to be around for a few years yet. He’s easily good enough as a squad player.

I don’t think he’ll get a work permit to feature for us this season already unless he plays a certain number of games at the WC if memory serves, and it’s not even certain he’ll go. -

“Here’s the real life Santiago” Kid looks special. Here’s hoping he fulfils his obvious potential at NUFC. -
We’ve not spent 60m on one of Europe’s hottest striker talents to then go and bring in a young player to “lead the line”. Isak is our long term striker, no doubt about it, unless we go with two up top and need another.

At least waiting for the day he leaves this world, I will derive great pleasure at him having to witness us go from strength to strength now he’s finally fucked off, and so quickly too. I hope the club charge his shitty shop a fortune for every shirt and piece of merchandise it will sell on the back of our growth and success.

This lad is hopefully next on the shortlist to be “Howed”. I’m not really seeing this resurgence some are claiming and for me his position is the one I’d most look to upgrade in January. He’s still miles from the form he had in that run in under Bruce when he kept us up with his goals. Hopefully Howe is working on making him a more effective midfield force. There’s something there, but he’s far too often still a weak link for me.

Same. I think we’ll be checking if some of the players we were after before are available at knock down prices due to contract situations, but other than that I would expect the focus to be on bringing in younger players who we can mould into future star players or sell for profit down the line.
-
I still fully believe he will take Wilson’s place. Callum will undoubtedly get another injury at some point and when that happens Isak will make the number 9 his own and we’ll never look back.

Absolutely fine saying we need a right winger of better quality if we’re going to be challenging for top honours, but people were pointing out how important Almiron’s work rate was for this side and also how it was clear in pre-season that Howe had been working on making him more effective, working with Trippier and Bruno in particular, and some people were having none of it. People were calling for all sorts of mediocre replacements ffs. I’m glad we didn’t go for Cornet and the likes. We need a proper upgrade in time, but for where we are today it was evident then, as it is now, that Almiron is an integral part of this team.

Full time: fantastic second half, awesome result. Love this team, love this manager, love this club

Best move of the game that. If only Wood could finish

-
Aye, weird

Wonder if Grealish was watching his old team…
-
Joelinton skies another good chance. As bad as the first half was, as good is the second. We’re tearing them a new one

Wood work again!
