Much as I love Eddie and rate Dubravka, surely he can see the bigger picture here? Any money we can get for a 35 year old whose contract expires in 5 months is great money, especially in these FFP times. Just last week he also said in a presser he would respect the player’s wishes, so if Dubs has agreed to go there as reported, it’s odd that he’s being so akward about it. Hypothetical scenario: let's say Arsenal would have bought Isak for 60m from Sociedad, would the press be angling for him to move to City or Liverpool for under 100m? Would they fuck! Newcastle United are still not getting the respect we deserve. Praying we qualify for CL and manage to bring in some more quality, so we can continue to improve and really challenge for silverware, while some of these so-called "top six" languish in midfield. I'm convinced, even despite all their "fair play" protection measures, one day soon there will be no ignoring or belittling us anymore, and the talk will be about how it's a shame their best players aren't playing CL or competing for titles every year.
