They are getting closer. If they lose this they are in a bit of bother with the games they have coming up. They've missed a huge one again. Entertaining end of the game. Sunlun trying hard but wide open at the back at times.

Sunlun don't want to score it seems

Imagine what he'd think if he saw your post about 'the coon'.

Sorry but a lot of this is horseshit. The club are already dampening expectations through the press of new signings so what exactly is to be gained by keeping SMC on with what will likely be more or less the same squad? Klopp has shown how much a good manager can achieve with a group of players who are playing like s*** all over the pitch. If you asked me right now whether I'd take 3-4 speculative signings from abroad (which is probably the best we'll get) or one top quality, proven manager then I'd be going for the manager. Absolutely. No chance whatsoever of Ashley/Charnley sanctioning it or anyone decent wanting to work in this system we've got, but I'd absolutely take an inspired managerial upgrade over any squad tinkering we are likely to do. Either way, I can't see them radically changing their approach as that would be an admission of their own failings. They've made their bed and now we will all have to lie in it.

Aye. He really seems like the anti-Keegan in terms of bigging up the players and giving them the confidence to perform at their potential. No defiance whatsoever, just a shrug of the shoulders.

You have to laugh. Normally I'd say this was a blessing in disguise, but we're now looking at cover from the under 21's aren't we?

You've got cancer, aids and leprosy. Now we can cure the cancer and leprosy but you're stuck with the aids. Nah, f*** off mate, i'd rather have all three. That would make sense if the aids didn't mean getting rid of the cancer and leprosy would result in getting ebola and TBC

How long is Lascelles out for anyway?

Yep

It's actually a pretty good blog article:

Stop thinking about it then and we might be alright.

Southampton aren't a million miles from us in terms of ownership predicament. An owner with no interest in the club who will only invest in the club by piling debt onto it that she'll eventually want back. The difference is that at Southampton there are obviously competent people handling the day to day running of the club. Ashley isn't going anywhere anytime soon, relegation or not, but with better people running the club things could be very different. Why do Southampton chose competent people and Ashley doesn't? Ashley lives for the bargain basement. Bargain basement MD & managers. And we can only hope he eventually wakes up and sees that it is a false economy. He's been asleep for eight years. He won't wake up.

Aye man, he got the reaction he was after. Shame it only lasted a few minutes.

I'm sorry but if people think McClaren's best hope of turning this around is to drop its best players and lead under 21's to the slaughter against a rejuvenated Liverpool side he may as wll give up there and then. How about he comes up with a gameplan that gives our brittle defence at least some protection and our forward(s) something to work with? And how about he and his team instill some discipline and belief in these players? They may not be world beaters, but they're a damn sight better than they're showing at the moment. In fact, pretty much every single one has done so before they joined us and even in their time with us? Is there one player you can say has showed something like their best form since the start of the year? McClaren is not to blame for our problems, but he certainly isn't the solution either.

If we get relegated (and possibly relegated again or at least don't bounce back with ease immediately) the club's valuation will come down as we will be worth a lot less to Ashley. This is not rocket science. As for potential buyers, I happen to believe there would be parties interested. The problem is Ashley has no incentive whatsoever to run this club properly or let go of it as long as we linger around lower midtable and manage to avoid relegation every season. We're stuck where we are whilst he owns the club and I would happily take our chances to see how a relegation scenario plays out. Short term pain for possible long term gain is better than perpetual shite.

If the giant advertising board we call St James' doesn't get shown to millions of viewers all over the world for two hours every other week we are useless to Ashley. It's that simple, so yes f***ing please, bring it on so we can rebuild from the ground up under new ownership.

We risked our PL future by having the most inept excuse of a caretaker for half a season and were told "not interested" in January and then again three games before the end of the season by this bloke all the while seeing his side completely implode at a lower level and still went for him
