  1. He's not likely to stay at Feyenoord. He took an emotional farewell to the fans and the players some week ago. He wants to take the next step in his career. Agreed, can't see him staying at Feyenoord as much as I'd like to see it happen.
  2. Quotes are from De Telegraaf, which is a fairly reliable source in NL. Would be funny to see what happens if we somehow manage to pip Spurs to fourth. I still believe Arsenal is his preferred destination and he is trying to sound them out by making these public statements lately..
  3. Good signing for them I think. I don't think 18 millon qualifies as a bargain mind.
  4. I think every club in the Premiership will be interested in Hoilett on a free (or low fee set by tribunal). Will be interesting to see what the lad wants himself.
  5. You're right, hope the forum doesnt implode because of it. I'm sure it won't.
  6. Couldn't this have gone in the transfer rumours thread?
  7. So Shearer has himself a management job lined up..
  8. I know you would have been asked this a thousand times (so apologies), but is he a quality option? All I know of him is from FIFA 12 and he's miserable in the NUFC team He's solid but hardly spectacular. I would be happy if we looked elsewhere, especially considering his constant injury problems.
  9. Was part of the pre-selection for the Dutch Euros team this morning, but this afternoon has brought confirmation he will not travel as his injury has not sufficiently healed.
  10. New Feyenoord away shirt (Puma) looks class iyam: http://www.fr12.nl/images/groot5/manu-heerenveen.jpg
  11. Didn't look confident at all yesterday. One of his weaker performances this season.
  12. Ronaldo and objectivity when it comes to Peter Lovenkrands.. I've already listed his strong points. If you want me to pretend he's anything near a good footballer you're the one with issues. Like shooting fish in a barrel..
  13. Subsection b covers this situation does it not? Seems to suggest the FA could claim another EL place for the team that finishes 7th (or 8th if Liverpool finish 7th)..? Edit: nevermind..
  14. Seems to be a lot of confusion about this: http://www.nsno.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,23098.15.html http://www.friendsoffulham.com/forum/index.php?topic=21811.0
  15. Agreed. Looked like the front 3 were looking for personal glory more than usual yesterday. There were a few occasions where they went for their own chance instead of trying to set up somebody else who was in a better position. We never played with a front three yesterday. You know what I mean(t).
  16. So Everton and Fulham are both still in the race for the last European ticket? Should make the last round even more intriguing as they will have something big to play for in their matches vs us and Spurs respectively..
  17. Vertonghen has complimented us (as well as Spurs, Arsenal and City) on the way we try to play football. Doesn't mean he'd be interested in coming to us mind. I think he's waiting for Arsenal to get involved.
  18. I can't agree with this in terms of Demba's quality early in the season- he was top class. However, today was a classic example of where we should have played 4-3-3 but didn't with the most likely reason being that they didn't trust Demba to track Zabaleta. The first goal comes from them outnumbering us in the middle. If Demba was to go with us signing two pacy 4-3-3 style widemen, it wouldn't be the end of my world and it would lessen the impact of the ACON next year as well. A straight swap for Gameiro wouldn't be too bad either! I agree .. I remember against Man Utd at home where his performance was completely dominant .. but since then hes the one player that frustrates the hell out of me.. as he has an inability to retain posession... without scoring goals he is not an asset to the side at all. Give over. What do you feel he offers then? I think others have answered the question, but if you think our excellent run of games recently in hat 4-3-3 formation could have been achieved with anybody other (from our squad obviously) than Demba Ba alongside Cisse and Ben Arfa in the front three you're mental. He's strong, intelligent, fast, a good passer of the ball and has also tracked back and worked hard. His goals have dried up, but not for want of trying or not getting into good positions. With a bit more luck he would have had 20+ goals already and we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

  20. Nobody knows the details, but the release clause, if it even exists, may well have become irrelevant now we have qualified for Europe. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
  21. Whilst I somewhat agree with the sentiment I couldn't disagree more about the bit in bold.
