  2. second best manager in the world, after mourinho, imo. never coming here though :shok: It would be very generous to rate Mourinho as the best manager in the world, he struggles to make the top 2 in the Premiership. That's strange, I thought he'd done nothing other than win it since he came to England? I meant i struggle to rate him above Wenger or Ferguson. Both of them (and arguably Benitez too), given the same budget, would have easily matched Mourinho's achievments over the last few seasons.. if not surpassed them.

  4. Sven. Although, seemingly unlike the majority, i would be pleased with Curbishley.

    Tomorrow's Mirror!!

Hate to say it? Sven is by far the best manager we have any hope of getting.

    Where are you hiding?

He's just been on SSN backing Roeder to turn things around and insisting any 'Shepherd Out' chants were only from a small minority of supporters for about '10 seconds'.

    Roeder out campaigners

Definitely not Curbishly. He is a better manager than Roeder obviously, but we will still be a mid table team. At Charlton he was working with a substantially inferior squad and made them a comfortable mid-table side, Ian Dowie is proving that was some accomplishment. Ofcourse he wouldn't be my dream appointment, but certainly a realistic one, i think he'd thrive at a bigger club, with bigger players, expectations. At very least Curbishley would give the club stability, something we've desperately lacked in recent times. We're simply not going to attract a Hiddink or Hitzfeld, someone who could turn us into a comfortable top 6, challenging for top 4 side, within a season. Who would you like to see brought in? Because although i think we're too good individually to be relegated... Roeder appears to be doing his best job to make us candidates. Remind me, who was incharge of the last club relegated with excellent individuals? bluedead.gif I can't see anyone wanting to come - that's the point of the thread tbh. You really think AC is up to the ridiculous demands of Toon fans. You think he knows how to handle international players? Exactly how many times were Chartlon in UEFA competition or reached a cup semi? You talk as if the current manager meets those requirements. People point to the fact Curbishley never took Charlton to the next level, remember he had been in the job for 15 years - i imagine he had trouble motivating himself at that point, nevermind the players. Are you trying to say no other clubs are interested in him? 'Alan Curbishley is just 10 days from being the most wanted manager in football - when a secret clause in his severance package from Charlton runs out and lets him work again. Middlesbrough, Newcastle and West Ham are all monitoring his situation.'

    Roeder out campaigners

Most of us didn't think Glenn was anywhere near good enough when he was appointed, now we're being proved right. Curbishley is looking like a more attractive option as each game passes, definetly a significant step up from Roeder.
  10. Man United 1-0 Liverpool. Scholes.
  11. I know it was mocked, but the Hitzfeld campaign did actually recieve a decent amount of publicity. I can't see this being particularly effective, but good luck.
  12. The thing is, Shearer will be our next manager anyway. It's best to get it out of the way as soon as possible and who knows, he might turn out to be quite good.
  13. Does he? I can't believe people think it was the correct decision, that our most important managerial appointment for years, was based on a honeymoon period.
  14. I know Crumpy is just on the wind-up but i'm genuinely suprised by the amount of people concerned by Martins' performance.
  15. Why wasn't Luque sold if Sibierski and Rossi are going to make the squad ahead of him..?
  16. 'Is this some kind of sick joke?'

OT: How come the SMB has about x10 the amount of active users we do? And it's like that most of the time.
  19. Why don't you make them the correct size for avatars?
