Bent, for £12m, an amazing sign? He's an average Premiership striker who will be lucky to see 20 goals a season again in his career. Also, is he going to be happy going from the best player at a club, to 3rd choice at another? We should be looking at someone who'll be comfortable being benched when Owen and Martins are fit, yet capable of scoring goals when one of them isn't. I'd suggest an aging but proven player, such as Viduka or someone young and inexperienced, like Nugent.

What is that based on? Do you really think several top Premiership clubs are interested in him just because he can hit a decent freekick? I would be suprised if you have seen either play enough to compare them defensively.

If you take a moment to assess our squad, and highlight the players we currently have good enough for a top 6 Premiership squad, the answer is yes. Gk = Given, Harper. Lb = , Babayaro. Cb = Taylor, . Cb = , . Rb = Solano, . Lw = N'Zogbia, Duff. Cm = Butt, Parker. Cm = Emre, Dyer. Rw = Milner, . Cf = Owen, Martins. Cf= , Sibierski. ...There are plenty of gaps to fill and it's Roeder's job to do that as soon as possible. It's unrealistic to aim for it in a solitary transfer window, it's a process which will take the majority of his 2 year contract to complete, if he accomplishes it at all. In the meantime, the likes of Huntington, Ramage, Pattison, etc. can do job when called upon, but ofcourse we need major signings in this window.. it's now Glenn's decision to prioritise which. I disagree we would better off waiting until the Summer, as you've proved with your examples, that's only very specific to players whose contracts are up at the end of the season. The bulk of our targets are going to cost exactly the same now as they would do in June.

SSN: Fulham accept bid from unnamed Premiership club for Collins John.

I thought this was about Ricardo Gardner and you were taking the piss.

Dyer is better than Milner in the middle and Milner is better than Dyer on the wing. I agree with the rest, though.

Depending on price, i would take Davies, Nugent, Bale, Greg Halford and Ben Watson.

Has it been confirmed he has broken his neck? Let's hope he's ok.

Olly's Back In Toon, 1st February 2007 Oliver Bernard sensationally rejoined Newcastle United late last night, just weeks after having his contract torn up due to fitness problems. Glenn Roeder is supposed to have made the u-turn on the Frenchman's future after discovering Wayne Bridge, who he'd been watching throughout the window, had already signed a new contract at Chelsea several months previously. Roeder stated: "We're delighted to have acquired the services of Bernard for the remainder of the season. He's a player of real quality and someone that will help propel us up the Premiership table" Bernard was unable to make a first team appearance during his last spell at the club, yet Glenn is confident he'll return to action in no time. Roeder said: "Unfortunately he's been wasting away since leaving the club and we'll have to fatten him up before he's ready to make an impact, but i'm optimistic he'll be in the squad to face Liverpool on the 10th"

I imagine they'll at least make a fight of it under Pardew. It's going to become a real scrap down there now, Watford are probaly the only certainties for the drop.
-
If Emre is out, central midfield. If Sibierski is out, just behind the striker. If they're both fit he hasn't done anything to justify a starting place, yet.

How can YOU say anyone is an idiot. Exactly; it would be a bit like you calling someone an insufferable, condescending cunt.
-
how is it parker's fault now?! Not only was his individual performance poor, he completely disrupts the balance of the side; nothing a few crunching tackles won't make up for though, eh?
-
The first of many games lost due to Roeder being incapable of not selecting Parker, i fear.

Liverpool/Arsenal or Spurs/Southend or Wycombe. Are the semis played at neutral grounds in the league? If they are not then i feel we would get knocked out playing Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs at their grounds. Thats only if we beat Chelsea, which i doubt we will. They're played over two legs, home and away.

There will be another draw for the Semi-Finals.

Krul R. Taylor S. Taylor Ferdinand M. Taylor Milner Parker Emre Duff Bent Owen Not being funny, but £100m and you'd still want to see Parker and Emre in the middle? bluelaugh.gif Sorry, mate. Honest. That's me off for a can. I would go along with spending however much it takes to attract a world class manager, players are relatively unimportant in comparison.
