  3. Olly's Back In Toon, 1st February 2007 Oliver Bernard sensationally rejoined Newcastle United late last night, just weeks after having his contract torn up due to fitness problems. Glenn Roeder is supposed to have made the u-turn on the Frenchman's future after discovering Wayne Bridge, who he'd been watching throughout the window, had already signed a new contract at Chelsea several months previously. Roeder stated: "We're delighted to have acquired the services of Bernard for the remainder of the season. He's a player of real quality and someone that will help propel us up the Premiership table" Bernard was unable to make a first team appearance during his last spell at the club, yet Glenn is confident he'll return to action in no time. Roeder said: "Unfortunately he's been wasting away since leaving the club and we'll have to fatten him up before he's ready to make an impact, but i'm optimistic he'll be in the squad to face Liverpool on the 10th"
  4. I imagine they'll at least make a fight of it under Pardew. It's going to become a real scrap down there now, Watford are probaly the only certainties for the drop.
  5. If Emre is out, central midfield. If Sibierski is out, just behind the striker. If they're both fit he hasn't done anything to justify a starting place, yet.

    Winning Formula

How can YOU say anyone is an idiot. Exactly; it would be a bit like you calling someone an insufferable, condescending cunt.
  7. how is it parker's fault now?! Not only was his individual performance poor, he completely disrupts the balance of the side; nothing a few crunching tackles won't make up for though, eh?
  8. The first of many games lost due to Roeder being incapable of not selecting Parker, i fear.
  9. Liverpool/Arsenal or Spurs/Southend or Wycombe. Are the semis played at neutral grounds in the league? If they are not then i feel we would get knocked out playing Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs at their grounds. Thats only if we beat Chelsea, which i doubt we will. They're played over two legs, home and away.
  10. There will be another draw for the Semi-Finals.

    £100m

Krul R. Taylor S. Taylor Ferdinand M. Taylor Milner Parker Emre Duff Bent Owen Not being funny, but £100m and you'd still want to see Parker and Emre in the middle? bluelaugh.gif Sorry, mate. Honest. That's me off for a can. I would go along with spending however much it takes to attract a world class manager, players are relatively unimportant in comparison.

    Today's Games

It's going to be a great goal of the month competition.
  15. Aye same here mate. The debate is whether it matters if he's doing his job which is scoring goals. What does Owen contribute other than goals? It doesn't bode well for their partnership, though. I do think Martins has the potential to do very well here; however, two goals shouldn't make the performance exempt from criticism
  16.  I can use smilies too.
  17. Actually, depsite two well taken goals, i thought his general play was extremely frustrating.
  18. Uninspiring victory, but that's probaly the best we're going to consistently achieve under Roeder.

    Central midfield pair

    Butt & Emre or Dyer.
  20. I agree, he deserves a start at the weekend. Although, if Sibierski is injured, i would push Rossi upfront and put Luque or Duff out wide.
  21. How do you know? It's still strongly rumoured on West Ham forums that he'll go there in January.
  22. You can say that, but then look at how O'Neill has done a few small things, triggerring a massive improvement in the performances of what were considered as shit players. True, Roeder doesn't appear to be implementing the basics. Also, it's Glenn's own fault if the squad is not good enough, building it is one of the manager's main jobs. It's not as if he was appointed a week before the transfer window closed either, he had the entire Summer to strengthen and Bernard ended up being the only defender he signed. I was worried by his comments today 'I'm not interested in bringing Woodgate, Distin or Knight to Newcastle' I hope January doesn't turn into a repeat of the last window, Roeder ruling out every realistic possibility whilst maintaining we're in pole position for several signings, then on deadline day producing Andy O'Brien on a 4 month loan.
